Jill Gregory becomes NASCAR's first female chief marketing officer
Jill Gregory has been promoted to NASCAR senior vice president and chief marketing officer, making her the first woman to have that role in NASCAR.
Gregory assumes a role formerly held by NASCAR Executive Vice President Steve Phelps, whose new role as chief global sales officer puts him in charge of increasing engagement with NASCAR fans internationally.
Gregory joined the NASCAR marketing department in July 2007 after holding motorsports marketing roles at Bank of America and Sprint.
Phelps has served as CMO since 2006 and has been overseeing the search for a new series sponsor, with Sprint set to leave following the 2016 season.
