United States national team star Alex Morgan is in a race to be fit for the UEFA Women's Champions League final after suffering a hamstring injury with her club Lyon.

Morgan limped out of Saturday's 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain, the team that Lyon will face in the European showpiece in Cardiff on June 1, after suffering a hamstring injury late in the first half.

The 27-year-old, who joined OL on a six-month contract from Orlando Pride in December, is certain to miss Friday's French Cup final, which is also against PSG. Morgan is a doubt to return to help Lyon defend their Champions League crown in Wales early next month.

She posted an Instagram message Wednesday that did not give any clues about her current fitness, but did promise she would be back on the field soon.
