Ashley Owusu, the No. 10 prospect in the 2019 class, will take her winning game to Maryland.

Ashley Owusu, a 5-foot-9 point guard and the No. 10 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Terrific 25 for the 2019 class, committed to Maryland on Thursday.

"I made a visit there and everything just seemed right," she said. "Maryland has been recruiting me for a long time and the visit just proved to me that Maryland is where I want to be."

Owusu, who received her first scholarship offers when she was in eighth grade, also considered Penn State, South Carolina, Connecticut and West Virginia. She took visits to West Virginia and Penn State.

Owusu, who helped lead powerhouse Paul VI (Fairfax, Virginia) to a state title as both a freshman and a sophomore, is an elite floor general with a sensational combo game. Owusu is superb off the dribble and consistently delivers with her mid-range game. She's a playmaker and a capable scorer, and she's also efficient at setting the table for others.

Brenda Frese and the Terps add incoming freshman Channise Lewis to their 2017 roster. Maryland has three commitments in 2018: No. 10 Shakira Austin, No. 20 Taylor Mikesell and No. 58 Olivia Owens.

Owusu is Maryland's only commit so far for 2019.
