At 6-6, Kennedy Brown can dominate under the basket, but that doesn't mean she wants to stay there.

Kennedy Brown, a 6-foot-6 center at Derby (Kansas) and the No. 19 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100, has committed to Oregon State.

"Coach Scott Rueck and I clicked," said Brown, who averaged 14.4 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.2 blocks per game last season as a junior. "He gets me and I get him. He has a vision for me."

The vision? Versatility. Brown is a skilled back-to-the-basket player, but her weapons extend to the arc. She is comfortable attacking from the perimeter and she models her game after Breanna Stewart and Elena Delle Donne.

"Coach Rueck has been behind me since day one and emphasized that I have only scratched the surface of my ability," she said. "I believe he will get me there."

Brown had also considered UCLA, Louisville, Oklahoma, Baylor and Oregon.

"I just felt that feeling that you get when you know it's where you are supposed to be," she said. "I got that at Oregon State."

Size is certainly a hallmark of the Oregon State roster. This season the Beavers feature 6-8 senior Joanna Grymek, 6-9 freshman Andrea Aquino and 6-6 freshman Patricia Morris.

Brown joins Taylor Jones, a 6-3 post player from Texas who is ranked 42nd, in Rueck's 2019 class.

Six top-20 prospects in the 2019 class remain undeclared: No. 1 Haley Jones, No. 3 Aliyah Boston, No. 7 Zia Cooke, No. 9 Rickea Jackson, No. 10 Laeticia Amihere and No. 13 Breanna Beal. The early signing period opens Nov. 14.
