Baylor lands commitment from elite post player Hannah Gusters
"It came down to Connecticut and Baylor over the last couple of months," Gusters said. "I visited both schools and both were great."
Gusters, a senior-to-be at MacArthur (Irving, Texas), said there was one key factor that nudged her toward Waco and coach Kim Mulkey.
"I decided on Baylor because of their great success in post players like Brittney Griner, Lauren Cox and Kalani Brown," she said. "I want to emulate those posts."
Gusters, the lone commit so far in Baylor's 2020 recruiting class, already has a game that is comparable to Brown's. She's a power post with superior size who has the ability to play with her back to the basket.
Gusters was ruled ineligible for most of her junior season after transferring to MacArthur from Duncanville (Texas). The district executive committee ruled she had transferred for athletic reasons. Gusters appealed, but the UIL state executive committee upheld the ruling.
"I have had a lot of people assist me in the recruiting process over the past couple years, but this decision was one I formed on my own, this one is on me," Gusters said. "I knew in my heart that Baylor was the right choice."
