Team EnVyUs has finalized its 2017 League of Legends lineup, ESPN has learned. The team traded its AD carry Benjamin "LOD" deMunck for Team Dignitas AD carry Apollo "Apollo" Price several weeks ago, following LOD's wish to move to the Team Dignitas squad. EnVyUs has also signed former Afreeca Freecs jungler Nam "LirA" Tae-yoo in its jungle position, sources close to both parties told ESPN. The team plans to announce the additions to its roster on Sunday.
In addition to filling its lineup, the team has picked up former Immortals head coach Dylan Falco, sources said. The team also announced Saturday evening that it will retain top laner Shin "Seraph" Woo-yeong, mid laner Noh "Ninja" Geon-woo and support Nickolas "Hakuho" Surgent.
The replacement of Kim "Procxin" Se-young comes after the team underwent issues between its four players, before the trade of LOD was traded to Team Dignitas. While those issues were resolved, LOD, in an interview with ESPN on Dec. 21, said that he felt like Team Dignitas was a better fit after it approached EnVyUs for a potential trade for Apollo in early December.
LirA originally joined Europe's Team Vitality in November but reneged on the deal following an expression of discomfort in Europe and competing with that team, according to sources.
Team EnVyUs, best known for its time in Call of Duty, first entered the League of Legends space in May, after it purchased the League Championship Series spot from the Riot-banned team Renegades. During its first bout in the summer, it took fifth-sixth place in the League Championship Series playoffs.
Team EnVyUs did not respond to a request for comment on this report.
