Team SoloMid have hired Kim "SSONG" Sang-soo as its head coach for the 2018 season, sources close to the team and coach told ESPN. SSONG will take over the role previously occupied by Parth Naidu, who is expected to remain with the organization and move to some form of operations role.

Team SoloMid is also likely to undergo roster changes during the off-season, sources said. It is unable to begin changing rosters officially until the Nov. 21 free agency opening.

SSONG spent the latter half of the 2017 season with fellow North American team Immortals. During that time, Immortals took second in the summer split of the North American League of Legends Championship Series and qualified for the League of Legends World Championship.

Team SoloMid also competed at the League of Legends World Championship; both it and Immortals failed to make it out of the group stage of that event.

Prior to Immortals, SSONG coached the ROX Tigers teams that took second and third-fourth at the 2015 and 2016 League of Legends World Championship, respectively.

Team SoloMid declined to comment.
