Undefeated middleweight prospect Chris Weidman on Tuesday agreed to face Jesse Bongfeldt at UFC 131 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Weidman (5-0-0) was offered the fight with Bongfeldt after Court McGee withdrew due to a torn ACL. McGee, who won 'The Ultimate Fighter' Season 11 championship, was injured in training camp.
Bongfeldt will enter the fight with a professional record of 21-7-1. He made his UFC debut in December against Rafael Natal. That fight ended in a draw.
Weidman will also be making his second appearance inside the Octagon. In his UFC debut on March 3, Weidman defeated Alessio Sakara by unanimous decision.
