Updates/analysis (most recent first)
7:35 p.m. ET -- Ben Roethlisberger active -- ESPN AFC North Blog reports that
QB Ben Roethlisberger (foot) is active for the Steelers, as expected. He'll be playing at beneath 100 percent, but it's a better matchup for him than you'd think. If you've waited this long to use him, stick to the plan.
7:32 p.m. ET -- Le'Ron McClain inactive -- Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun reports that RB Le'Ron McClain (ankle) is inactive for the Ravens. This isn't huge news, but it should result in more backfield clarity for starter Ray Rice and backup/goal-line back Willis McGahee.
7:32 p.m. ET -- Derrick Mason active -- Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun reports that WR Derrick Mason (illness) is active for the Ravens. It's a poor matchup for him, so only look to him as a No. 3/4 option in PPR formats.
7:32 p.m. ET -- Dawan Landry active -- Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun reports that S Dawan Landry (head) is active for the Ravens.
3:20 p.m. ET -- Tony Romo inactive -- The Cowboys' official website confirms that QB Tony Romo (left shoulder) is inactive. Jon Kitna earns another start at quarterback, though he's merely a low-level No. 2 option in two-quarterback leagues.
3:20 p.m. ET -- Dez Bryant active -- The Cowboys' official website reports that WR Dez Bryant (back) is active. He's a useful No. 2/3 option in a game where the Cowboys will probably be throwing frequently.
3:20 p.m. ET -- Keith Brooking active -- The Cowboys' official website reports that LB Keith Brooking (foot) is active.
3:06 p.m. ET -- Cadillac Williams active -- D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that RB Cadillac Williams (ribs) is active for the Buccaneers. He'll continue to play primarily on passing downs, and won't be involved enough to be a recommended option even in PPR formats.
3:06 p.m. ET -- Kellen Winslow active -- D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that TE Kellen Winslow (knee) is active for the Buccaneers. He has touchdowns in two of his past three games, but was also held to just three catches for 31 yards in Week 9 against the Falcons. He's a hit-or-miss fantasy tight end, but in a rough season for the position, he's targeted often enough to be a low-end No. 1 option.
3:06 p.m. ET -- Barrett Ruud active -- D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that LB Barrett Ruud (back) is active for the Buccaneers.
3:05 p.m. ET -- Michael Hoomanawanui inactive -- ESPN's NFC West Blog confirms that TE Michael Hoomanawanui (ankle) is inactive for the Rams. Billy Bajema and Daniel Fells will fill in for Hoomanawanui, though neither is a recommended fantasy option.
3:01 p.m. ET -- Matt Hasselbeck active -- Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald reports that QB Matt Hasselbeck (left wrist) is active for the Seahawks. He's a low-end No. 2 option in two-quarterback leagues, in spite of the favorable matchup against the Panthers.
3:01 p.m. ET -- Mike Williams (SEA) active -- Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald reports that WR Mike Williams (foot) is active. It's unclear how much he'll play, but his presence detracts from Ben Obomanu's fill-in appeal, as Obomanu's Week 12 performance detracts from Williams' fantasy appeal in this matchup.
3:01 p.m. ET -- John Carlson inactive -- Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald reports that TE John Carlson (hip) is inactive. Carlson is in the midst of a terribly disappointing season and has been invisible of late, so you can feel free to cut him at this point.
3:01 p.m. ET -- Chris Clemons active -- Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald reports that DE Chris Clemons (ankle) is active.
2:58 p.m. ET -- Brian St. Pierre inactive No. 3 QB -- The Panthers' official Twitter reports that QB Brian St. Pierre (right shoulder) is the inactive No. 3 quarterback. Jimmy Clausen remains the team's starter, and Keith Null will be his backup, though neither has any business being on a fantasy roster.
2:58 p.m. ET -- Goodson, Sutton active -- The Panthers' official Twitter reports that RBs Mike Goodson (not injury related) and Tyrell Sutton (ankle) are both active. Goodson and Jonathan Stewart will share the bulk of the rushing workload, which makes neither one a particularly attractive fantasy option. Consider them flex-play options at best.
2:58 p.m. ET -- James Anderson active -- The Panthers' official Twitter reports that LB James Anderson (concussion) is active.
2:55 p.m. ET -- Max Hall active -- Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official website reports that QB Max Hall (illness) is active. He'll again serve as Derek Anderson's backup, meaning no fantasy value.
2:55 p.m. ET -- Steve Breaston active -- Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official website reports that WR Steve Breaston (knee) is active. He's a No. 3 fantasy option, and more so in PPR formats than standard.
2:55 p.m. ET -- Cardinals defenders active -- Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official website reports that DE Calais Campbell (ankle), DT Darnell Dockett (shoulder) and LB Paris Lenon (knee) are active.
2:51 p.m. ET -- Joseph Addai inactive -- Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star reports that RB Joseph Addai (neck) is inactive, while RB Mike Hart (ankle) is active. Donald Brown will earn another start, but he hasn't performed well enough in the role in recent weeks to be anything more than a flex play. He, Hart and Javarris James might divide the rushing chores to some degree.
2:51 p.m. ET -- Austin Collie inactive -- Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star confirms that WR Austin Collie (concussion) is inactive. Blair White will see more targets working out of the slot, and is a No. 3 fantasy option facing the Cowboys. In other Colts news, WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is active, cementing his status as a must-start in all formats.
2:51 p.m. ET -- Kelvin Hayden inactive -- Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star reports that CB Kelvin Hayden (neck) is inactive.
2:50 p.m. ET -- Roddy White, Michael Jenkins active -- Jay Adams of the Falcons' official website reports that both WRs Michael Jenkins (quadricep) and Roddy White (knee) are active. White remains a weekly must-start, while Jenkins shouldn't be targeted enough to be a worthwhile play even in deeper leagues.
2:48 p.m. ET -- Chaz Schilens active -- The Raiders' official Twitter reports that WR Chaz Schilens (knee) is active. He has resumed practicing and was questionable this week, so don't expect him to take on a significant role. Still, his progress bears watching, as he could be a low-level sleeper in the season's final weeks if he integrates himself back into the lineup quickly.
2:48 p.m. ET -- Zach Miller active -- The Raiders' official Twitter reports that TE Zach Miller (foot) is active. He's attempting to play through a torn plantar fascia, and while he reports progress recently, it's difficult to imagine him being 100 percent for this matchup. Miller's owners might be tempted to use him because of his active status, but don't expect much, mainly because he hasn't done much while attempting to play hurt in recent weeks.
2:46 p.m. ET -- Jason Snelling inactive -- Jay Adams of the Falcons' official website reports that RB Jason Snelling (hamstring) is inactive. Michael Turner will hog practically all the carries, not that he doesn't in weeks when Snelling is healthy. This merely confirms his clear top-10 status.
2:44 p.m. ET -- Tolbert, Mathews both active -- The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that both RBs Mike Tolbert (hand) and Ryan Mathews (ankle) are active for the Chargers. This might be a straight timeshare, being that Tolbert's injury was the more problematic of the two during the practice week. Still, Tolbert's status as the preferred goal-line back makes him the somewhat stronger No. 2/flex.
2:43 p.m. ET -- Crayton, V-Jax out, Floyd active -- The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that WRs Patrick Crayton (wrist) and Vincent Jackson (calf) are both inactive, while WR Malcom Floyd (hamstring) is active, for the Chargers. Floyd and Legedu Naanee will be the team's starters, and both are useful No. 3 options.
2:43 p.m. ET -- Antonio Gates active -- The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that TE Antonio Gates (toe) is active for the Chargers. This is only surprising in that the team's official website previously had listed Gates as out for the game, but apparently he was deemed OK to go during the pregame warmups. A healthy Gates is a must for his fantasy owners, so get him into your lineup.
2:30 p.m. ET -- Marion Barber inactive -- The Cowboys' official website confirms that RB Marion Barber (calf) is inactive. Felix Jones and Tashard Choice will share the running-back chores, though Jones should be the more involved of the two, especially considering his receiving contributions. Jones is a useful No. 2 option for the week.
11:59 a.m. ET -- Austin Collie expected out -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that
WR Austin Collie (concussion) is unlikely to play in Week 13. That's a 4:15 p.m. ET game, so prepare accordingly. Blair White gets a significant boost as a result, as he'll stand in as the Colts' slot receiver.
11:56 a.m. ET -- Karlos Dansby active -- Browns Insider reports that LB Karlos Dansby (toe) is active for the opposing Dolphins.
11:53 a.m. ET -- Hill out, Drew Stanton to start -- Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press confirms that both QBs Shaun Hill (right finger) and Matthew Stafford (right shoulder) are inactive for the Lions, leaving third-stringer Drew Stanton to start at quarterback. Stanton has two touchdowns compared to seven interceptions in his career, and he'll be facing a Bears defense that has allowed the fewest fantasy points to the position (standard ESPN scoring), so he's a clear no-go for our purposes. Stanton's backup will be Zac Robinson.
11:53 a.m. ET -- Jahvid Best active -- Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that RB Jahvid Best (toe) is active for the Lions. He was limited in practice this week, however, and Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan told the Detroit News that Maurice Morris should carry most of the load, so expect limited touches for the rookie. Best should be avoided if possible in all fantasy leagues until he proves he's healthy.
11:53 a.m. ET -- Nate Burleson active -- Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that WR Nate Burleson (hamstring) is active for the Lions. The Bears effectively take deep passing plays out of the equation, and Burleson has Drew Stanton throwing him the football besides. He's not an attractive play except in a desperate circumstance.
11:53 a.m. ET -- Tony Scheffler active -- Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that TE Tony Scheffler (rib) is active for the Lions. A healthy Scheffler, at this stage of the season, is more of a headache to Brandon Pettigrew's owners, cutting into the No. 1 tight end's targets. With Drew Stanton at quarterback, there are too many questions for either tight end to be a prime fantasy play, but if you must rely on one, make it Pettigrew.
11:53 a.m. ET -- Levy active, Vanden Bosch out -- Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (neck) is inactive, while LB DeAndre Levy (groin) is active, for the Lions. With Vanden Bosch sidelined, Jay Cutler's matchup gets a boost for the opposing Bears, as he'll be afforded more time to throw.
11:52 a.m. ET -- C.J. Spiller active -- The Bills' official Twitter reports that RB C.J. Spiller (hamstring) is active. He might serve as a change-of-pace back for Fred Jackson, but considering Jackson is on a major hot streak, with three consecutive games of 20-plus fantasy points (standard ESPN scoring), Spiller might contribute most on special teams. He's a no-go in fantasy, and Jackson's owners shouldn't be too concerned about the rookie's active status, either.
11:50 a.m. ET -- Brandon Marshall inactive -- ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that WR Brandon Marshall (hamstring) is inactive for the Dolphins. He was limited for the final three practice days and listed as questionable, but apparently was unable to go. Davone Bess should be the favorite to lead the team in targets and catches -- heads up PPR owners.
11:48 a.m. ET -- McCoy out, Jake Delhomme to start -- Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports that QB Colt McCoy (ankle) is inactive for the Browns, meaning Jake Delhomme will start a second consecutive game. Delhomme shouldn't be trusted in any fantasy league; his starter status is primarily a plus for the Dolphins defense, which looks like an attractive Week 13 plug-in. Delhomme will be backed up by Seneca Wallace.
11:48 a.m. ET -- Josh Cribbs active -- Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports that WR Josh Cribbs (foot) is active for the Browns. Cribbs might play some snaps on offense this week after being limited only to returns in Week 12, but his questionable tag and limited practice status means he might not yet be 100 percent. Unless your league awards points for return yards, and you're in a pinch, you shouldn't be relying on him.
11:48 a.m. ET -- T.J. Ward active -- Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports that S T.J. Ward (thigh) is active for the Browns.
11:47 a.m. ET -- Brian Westbrook active -- The Sacramento Bee reports that RB Brian Westbrook (ankle) is active for the 49ers. He'll take over as the 49ers' primary running back, with Frank Gore out for the season, but expect backup Anthony Dixon to be involved as well, perhaps as the goal-line back. Something to consider if you're stuck choosing between the two: Comcast SportsNet Bay Area reports that Westbrook played 47 of the 49ers' 71 offensive snaps in Week 12, while Dixon played 18. Consider Westbrook the stronger flex play, with Dixon only a hail-mary type in touchdown-heavy leagues.
11:47 a.m. ET -- Josh Morgan active -- The Sacramento Bee reports that WR Josh Morgan (shoulder) is active for the 49ers. While he was second on the 49ers in targets in Week 12, keep in mind he had only five, and he hasn't had a game with more than seven fantasy points (standard ESPN scoring) all season. Morgan isn't involved enough in the offense to be a recommended fantasy option.
11:47 a.m. ET -- Joe Nedney inactive -- The Sacramento Bee confirms that K Joe Nedney (right knee) is inactive for the 49ers. Jeff Reed has been signed as the 49ers' kicker, and he might retain that role for the remainder of the season.
11:46 a.m. ET -- Demaryius Thomas inactive -- Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post confirms that WR Demaryius Thomas (ankle) is inactive for the Broncos. This helps clear up the occasionally muddled Broncos wide receiver corps; the pecking order should run in this clear order: Brandon Lloyd, Eddie Royal, Jabar Gaffney, and fantasy owners should proceed accordingly. Royal and Gaffney could be surprisingly useful No. 3/4 options in deeper leagues.
11:45 a.m. ET -- Kerry Collins active -- ESPN Blogs AFC South reports that QB Kerry Collins (calf) is active for the Titans. The Titans are probably rushing him back a week sooner than they should, but it's understandable considering how poorly Rusty Smith ran the offense in Week 12. It's smarter to wait a week to see how Collins fares before activating him in two-quarterback leagues, but he is facing the Jaguars. If you're hurting at the position, it's a favorable matchup at least.
11:45 a.m. ET -- Kenny Britt inactive -- ESPN Blogs AFC South reports that WR Kenny Britt (hamstring) is inactive for the Titans. It's no surprise; he practiced only with the scout team this week but has his sights set on a Week 14 return. The switch to Kerry Collins will bode well for him in future matchups -- at least better than his prospects with Rusty Smith at quarterback -- but for this week, it's Nate Washington and Randy Moss again earning the starts. Washington is the only trustworthy starting fantasy option, and even he is more of a No. 3.
11:45 a.m. ET -- Rob Bironas active -- ESPN Blogs AFC South reports that K Rob Bironas (right groin) is active for the Titans. He remains one of the best fantasy kickers in the game, so keep him active.
11:45 a.m. ET -- Babin, Griffin active -- ESPN Blogs AFC South reports that DE Jason Babin (ankle) and S Michael Griffin (illness) are both active for the Titans. Griffin is Jim McCormick's No. 3 defensive back and Babin his No. 8 defensive lineman in his "D Up!" rankings this week, so clearly both belong in every IDP lineup.
11:43 a.m. ET -- Brandon Flowers inactive -- The Chiefs' official Twitter reports that CB Brandon Flowers (hamstring) is active.
11:39 a.m. ET -- Dimitri Nance inactive -- The Packers' official Twitter reports that RB Dimitri Nance (concussion) is inactive. Though he seemed to have overtaken John Kuhn as the backup/change-of-pace option to starter Brandon Jackson, Nance's concussion apparently was too big an issue this week. Kuhn might see a few carries this week, but he's not a fantasy consideration. This news is actually a plus for Jackson, who warrants flex-play appeal.
11:39 a.m. ET -- Greg Jennings active -- The Packers' official Twitter reports that WR Greg Jennings (foot) is active. Few wide receivers are hotter; Jennings has three 100-yard efforts, six touchdowns and five double-digit fantasy games (standard ESPN scoring) in his past six. Consider him a must-start.
11:39 a.m. ET -- Packers defenders active -- The Packers' official Twitter reports that CB Charles Woodson (toe), DE Cullen Jenkins (calf) and LB Clay Matthews (shin) are all active. All three are worthy options in IDP formats; Matthews is the clear standout of the three, ranking second in Jim McCormick's "D Up!" this week.
11:39 a.m. ET -- Ladell Betts, Pierre Thomas inactive -- The Saints' official Twitter reports that both RBs Ladell Betts (neck) and Pierre Thomas (ankle) are inactive. Thomas was limited in practice throughout the week, and failed to impress the coaching staff during pregame warm-ups. With the duo sidelined, Chris Ivory and Julius Jones will again share the rushing workload. Ivory, who has three touchdowns the past two weeks combined, is the stronger flex-play option of the two.
11:37 a.m. ET -- David Garrard active -- The Jaguars' official Twitter reports that QB David Garrard (left wrist) is active. This is a more favorable matchup for him than the one against the Giants, but he not be quite 100 percent and it's still not what you could call a favorable matchup. Garrard remains a mid-level No. 2 option in two-quarterback leagues.
11:37 a.m. ET -- Mike Sims-Walker inactive -- The Jaguars' official Twitter confirms that WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) is inactive. The team also reports that Kassim Osgood will get the start in Sims-Walker's place, which isn't shocking considering how poorly Tiquan Underwood performed the last time Sims-Walker was absent. Osgood isn't an advised fantasy choice, though. In other Jaguars news, WR Jason Hill (calf) is active.
11:35 a.m. ET -- Donovan McNabb active -- Matt Teri of the Redskins' official website reports that QB Donovan McNabb (hamstring) is active. McNabb and "injury report" have been synonymous this season, à la Tom Brady, but like Brady, McNabb has been able to grit it out for every contest. This is about the least favorable matchup McNabb will face all season -- tied with the rematch against the Giants in the finale -- and it makes him a weak No. 2 option even in two-quarterback leagues.
11:35 a.m. ET -- Ryan Torain inactive -- Matt Teri of the Redskins' official website reports that RB Ryan Torain (hamstring) is inactive. It's not much of a surprise, despite reports that he traveled with the team to New York. It's a plus that Torain is nearing a return, but for another week, Keiland Williams and James Davis should share the rushing chores. Neither is a recommended choice facing the Giants defense, though Williams is the stronger pick if you're desperate.
11:35 a.m. ET -- Santana Moss active -- Matt Teri of the Redskins' official website reports that WR Santana Moss (knee) is active. It's an unfavorable matchup against the Giants, however, and he might not see enough targets to be worth more than No. 3 status in most leagues.
11:35 a.m. ET -- LaRon Landry inactive -- Matt Teri of the Redskins' official website confirms that S LaRon Landry (achilles) is inactive.
11:30 a.m. ET -- Brett Favre active -- The Vikings' official Twitter reports that QB Brett Favre (right shoulder) is active. His matchup might appear favorable on paper, but you can count on the Vikings focusing heavily on the run, going up against the Bills' bottom-ranked run defense (167.4 rushing yards allowed per game). Favre should only be used in two-quarterback leagues.
11:30 a.m. ET -- Adrian Peterson active -- The Vikings' official Twitter reports that RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) is active. He might not be 100 percent, after being limited in Friday's practice, but he might not need to be going up against by far the league's worst run defense. This is a golden matchup for one of fantasy's biggest stars, so keep him in your lineup, and merely temper your expectations. As in: A potential contender for No. 1 in fantasy scoring overall might have to settle "only" for top-10 status. Backup Toby Gerhart might also see a few more carries to keep the starter fresh.
11:30 a.m. ET -- Percy Harvin inactive -- The Vikings' official Twitter reports that WR Percy Harvin (illness) is inactive. His migraines have resumed flaring up, and apparently were too much to overcome this week. In addition, WR Greg Lewis (concussion) is inactive, while both WRs Bernard Berrian (groin) and Sidney Rice (hip) are active. Rice is the lone fantasy play of the bunch, but as more of a No. 3 option. Expect Greg Camarillo and Visanthe Shiancoe to each see a few more targets, with Shiancoe a potential top-10 tight end as a result of the news.
11:30 a.m. ET -- Ray Edwards inactive -- The Vikings' official Twitter reports that
DE Ray Edwards (ankle) is inactive.
11:26 a.m. ET -- Hakeem Nicks, Steve Smith inactive -- Pat Hanlon of the Giants' official website confirms that WR Steve Smith (pectoral) and Hakeem Nicks (lower leg) are both inactive. This was fully expected despite Smith's doubtful status, and it leaves Mario Manningham the clear No. 1 wideout, with No. 2 fantasy value at his position as the clear favorite for targets and catches. Derek Hagan and Michael Clayton will serve as the Nos. 2 and 3 wideouts again this week, though neither appeared comfortable enough in the offense in Week 12 to be trusted. It's every bit as likely Kevin Boss steps up as Eli Manning's preferred secondary target as one of the depth receivers, so take a look at Boss if you need help at tight end.
11:26 a.m. ET -- Osi Umenyiora active -- Pat Hanlon of the Giants' official website reports that
DE Osi Umenyiora (knee) is active. He's Jim McCormick's No. 2 defensive lineman in his "D Up!" rankings this week, so he's a must-start in IDP formats.
