RB Brandon Jacobs (knee, doubtful): inactive

RB Rashard Mendenhall (hamstring, questionable): active

RB Ben Tate (groin, questionable): active

RB Beanie Wells (hamstring, questionable): active

Late games (4:05 p.m. ET)

TE Antonio Gates (foot, doubtful): inactive

TE Aaron Hernandez (knee, questionable): active

RB Danny Woodhead (ankle, doubtful): inactive

Updates/analysis (most recent first)

Ryan Grant active (19:32 p.m. ET): The Green Bay Packers' official Twitter feed reports that RB Ryan Grant (kidney, probable) is active. Though he's part of a time share in the Packers' backfield, Grant has the short end of the stick right now. He's a flex-play consideration at best, and his value in that regard is tied to potential goal-line carries, which can be difficult to predict.

Donald Driver active (19:32 p.m. ET): The Green Bay Packers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Donald Driver (shin, probable) is active. He's merely a No. 3/4 fantasy wideout.

Charles Woodson active (19:32 p.m. ET): The Green Bay Packers' official Twitter feed reports that CB Charles Woodson (foot, probable) is active.

Jason Snelling active (19:29 p.m. ET): The Atlanta Falcons' official Twitter feed reports that RB Jason Snelling (concussion, probable) is active. For so long as Michael Turner is healthy, Snelling will occupy a little-used change-of-pace role, keeping him beneath the cutoff of fantasy usefulness.

Roddy White active (19:29 p.m. ET): The Atlanta Falcons' official Twitter feed reports that WR Roddy White (thigh, probable) is active. He remains one of the most valuable wideouts in fantasy, and matches up nicely against a Packers team off to a slow start defending the pass.

John Abraham inactive (19:30 p.m. ET): The Atlanta Falcons' official Twitter feed reports that DE John Abraham (hip, questionable) is inactive.

Plaxico Burress active (15:15 p.m. ET): The New York Jets' official Twitter feed reports that WR Plaxico Burress (elbow, probable) is active. The matchup against the mediocre Patriots pass defense is a good one; consider Burress a No. 2/3 fantasy wideout.

Eddie Royal inactive (14:54 p.m. ET): The Denver Broncos' official Twitter feed reports that WR Eddie Royal (groin, out) is inactive.

Demaryius Thomas inactive (14:54 p.m. ET): The Denver Broncos' official Twitter feed reports that WR Demaryius Thomas (finger, out) is inactive.

Knowshon Moreno active (14:54 p.m. ET): The Denver Broncos' official Twitter feed reports that RB Knowshon Moreno (hamstring, probable) is active. He has been surpassed by Willis McGahee on the depth chart, however, and no longer warrants using except in the deepest of fantasy leagues.

Danny Woodhead inactive (14:49 p.m. ET): The New England Patriots' official Twitter feed reports that RB Danny Woodhead (ankle, doubtful) is inactive.

Aaron Hernandez active (14:49 p.m. ET): The New England Patriots' official Twitter feed reports that TE Aaron Hernandez (knee, questionable) is active. Though this is bad news for Rob Gronkowski, it doesn't drop Gronkowski's value to the point he should sit for his fantasy teams. Remember, the Patriots will need to be creative spreading the ball around against the Jets' D, and Hernandez' limited status the past couple weeks means he might play fewer snaps than usual. Start Gronkowski, sit Hernandez.

Quentin Jammer active (14:47 p.m. ET): The San Diego Chargers' official Twitter feed reports that CB Quentin Jammer (illness, probable) is active.

Antonio Gates inactive (14:44 p.m. ET): The San Diego Chargers' official Twitter feed reports that TE Antonio Gates (foot, doubtful) is inactive. Randy McMichael will start in his place yet again, though he's not close to the talent that Gates is. Consider him only a No. 2 fantasy option, meaning he's a plug-in, not a go-get-him alternative.

Vincent Jackson active (14:44 p.m. ET): The San Diego Chargers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Vincent Jackson (hamstring, probable) is active. He has dealt with this injury for the better part of two weeks, and the Broncos are likely to have Champ Bailey active. Jackson might not top the leaderboard this week, but the absence of Antonio Gates means he should continue to be regularly targeted. Regard him a No. 1 fantasy wideout nevertheless.

Kellen Winslow active (14:40 p.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that TE Kellen Winslow (not injury related) is active. He remains a lower-end No. 1 fantasy tight end.

Sammie Stroughter inactive (14:40 p.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Sammie Stroughter (foot, out) is inactive. Preston Parker should get more work out of the slot, as he has the past few weeks, so take a look if you're desperate for a plug-in in a deeper league.

Earnest Graham active (14:40 p.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that RB Earnest Graham (hamstring, probable) is active. He's not getting enough touches to be an advised fantasy option, though if you need him in a PPR league, he's on the active roster today.

Aqib Talib active (14:40 p.m. ET): The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official Twitter feed reports that CB Aqib Talib (knee, probable) is active.

Braylon Edwards inactive (14:38 p.m. ET): The San Francisco 49ers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Braylon Edwards (knee, out) is inactive.

Michael Crabtree active (14:38 p.m. ET): The San Francisco 49ers' official Twitter feed reports that WR Michael Crabtree (foot, probable) is active. He's only a No. 3/4 option in deeper leagues.

Frank Gore active (14:38 p.m. ET): The San Francisco 49ers' official Twitter feed reports that RB Frank Gore (ankle, probable) is active. Based upon the Week 4 returns, when Gore wasn't even the starter, expect him to get at least two-thirds of the rushing work ahead of backup Kendall Hunter. That keeps Gore in the start-worthy class of fantasy running backs.

Mike Williams inactive (12:03 p.m. ET): The Seattle Seahawks' official Twitter feed reports that WR Mike Williams (concussion, out) is inactive.

Zach Miller active (12:03 p.m. ET): The Seattle Seahawks' official Twitter feed reports that TE Zach Miller (knee, probable) is active. Whether it's his quarterback or his offensive line, Miller's fantasy value has tanked this season. Active or not, he's a no-go this week, for our purposes at least.

Vince Young the No. 2 QB (12:01 p.m. ET): ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Vince Young is the Eagles' clear No. 2 quarterback this week, as
Mike Kafka is inactive.

Ben Tate to be No. 3 RB (11:57 a.m. ET): Nick Scurfield of the Houston Texans reports that RB Ben Tate (groin, questionable), active for Week 5, is likely to be the Texans' No. 3 running back, behind Arian Foster and Chris Ogbonnaya.

Brent Celek active (11:56 a.m. ET): Dan Graziano of ESPN's NFC East Blog reports that TE Brent Celek (illness) is active. He's simply a non-factor in Michael Vick's offense, and actually took a back seat to Clay Harbor at times in Week 4. This is a favorable matchup on paper, yes, but with the split of targets between Celek and Harbor unclear, neither one is more than a hail-mary play.

Steve Smith active (11:56 a.m. ET): Dan Graziano of ESPN's NFC East Blog reports that WR Steve Smith (knee, probable) is active. He remains a depth receiver for so long as both DeSean Jackson and
Jeremy Maclin remain healthy.

Michael Vick active (11:56 a.m. ET): Dan Graziano of ESPN's NFC East Blog reports that QB Michael Vick (left finger, probable) is active. He remains a top-shelf fantasy play so long as he remains healthy.

Marcel Reece inactive (11:53 a.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that RB Marcel Reece (ankle, questionable) is inactive. Michael Bush is back to be the primary backup and goal-line back this week.

Louis Murphy inactive (11:53 a.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that WR Louis Murphy (groin, questionable) is inactive.

Michael Bush active (11:53 a.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that RB Michael Bush (ankle, probable) is active. He'll be the goal-line back in all likelihood, but that still makes him no more than a flex-play option due to the bye weeks.

Jason Campbell active (11:53 a.m. ET): The Oakland Raiders' official Twitter feed reports that QB Jason Campbell (foot, probable) is active. He's merely a No. 2 fantasy option, if you play in a two-quarterback league.

Hines Ward active (11:50 a.m. ET): Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennesseean reports that WR Hines Ward (not injury related) is active. He hasn't been nearly as involved as much this year as in seasons past, appears to have been surpassed on the depth chart by Antonio Brown, faces a red-hot Titans defense and his quarterback might not be 100 percent. Avoid Ward.

Mewelde Moore inactive (11:50 a.m. ET): Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennesseean reports that RB Mewelde Moore (ankle, out) is inactive.

Rashard Mendenhall active (11:50 a.m. ET): Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennesseean reports that RB Rashard Mendenhall (hamstring, questionable) is active. Isaac Redman is reportedly the starter, however, and Mendenhall's active status is designed merely to have him as the emergency backup. Redman's fantasy appeal suffers -- he's a flex-play and nothing more -- but Mendenhall should be a sit in fantasy leagues.

Ben Roethlisberger active (11:50 a.m. ET): Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennesseean reports that QB Ben Roethlisberger (foot, probable) is active. He's facing a Titans defense that has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and might not be at full strength. If you can find a stronger alternative for the week, do it.

Todd Heap inactive (11:47 a.m. ET): The Arizona Cardinals' official Twitter feed reports that TE Todd Heap (hamstring, questionable) is inactive. This shouldn't be a huge hit to fantasy owners, as the Cardinals rarely lean on their tight ends. Heap was a non-factor in our game.

Beanie Wells active (11:47 a.m. ET): The Arizona Cardinals' official Twitter feed reports that RB Beanie Wells (hamstring, questionable) is active. The reports on him leading into the week have been positive and he's coming off a strong Week 4. Make sure to get him into your lineup, no matter how challenging the matchup against the Vikings on paper.

Andre Johnson inactive (11:43 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that WR Andre Johnson (hamstring, out) is inactive. He's out for a few weeks, shifting the focus of the Texans' passing game to Owen Daniels, Jacoby Jones and
Kevin Walter, among others.

Bryant Johnson active (11:43 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that WR Bryant Johnson (hamstring, questionable) is active. He might see a few extra targets this week with Andre Johnson out, but at best will rank third on the wideout depth chart. Avoid.

Ben Tate active (11:43 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that RB Ben Tate (groin, questionable) is active. His questionable tag means he'll probably be a little-used backup this week; Arian Foster is the Texans' go-to running back and should be a workhorse.

Derrick Ward inactive (11:43 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that RB Derrick Ward (ankle, questionable) is inactive.

Arian Foster active (11:43 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that RB Arian Foster (hip, probable) is active. Expect the Texans to lean as heavily upon him as they did in Week 4. He's one of the week's best fantasy plays.

Jacoby Jones active (11:43 a.m. ET): The Houston Texans' official Twitter feed reports that WR Jacoby Jones (knee, probable) is active. He's quite the sleeper this week, what with Andre Johnson out. See if Jones is somehow still out there in your league.

C.J. Spiller active (11:41 a.m. ET): The Buffalo Bills' official Twitter feed reports that RB C.J. Spiller (knee, probable) is active. He's not an advised fantasy option, however, as Fred Jackson has claimed the starter's job and is off to a monstrous start. Jackson stands out as a top-tier fantasy start facing the Eagles.

Brandon Jacobs inactive (11:39 a.m. ET): Pat Hanlon of the New York Giants reports that RB Brandon Jacobs (knee, doubtful) is inactive. This is good news for Ahmad Bradshaw owners, as he should get the bulk of the carries, including any potential goal-line work. Expect
Danny Ware to see a few extra carries as the backup.

Justin Tuck inactive (11:39 a.m. ET): Pat Hanlon of the New York Giants reports that DE Justin Tuck (groin, doubtful) is inactive.

Joseph Addai active (11:37 a.m. ET): Josh Looney of the Kansas City Chiefs reports that RB Joseph Addai (not injury related) is active. He remains a No. 2/flex option in fantasy.

Peyton Manning inactive (11:37 a.m. ET): Josh Looney of the Kansas City Chiefs reports that QB Peyton Manning (neck, out) is inactive.

Kerry Collins inactive (11:37 a.m. ET): Josh Looney of the Kansas City Chiefs reports that QB Kerry Collins (concussion, questionable) is inactive. It's no significant loss; Curtis Painter had already been tabbed the starter earlier in the week. Painter is, at best, a low-end No. 2 fantasy quarterback.

David Thomas inactive (11:35 a.m. ET): The New Orleans Saints' official Twitter feed reports that TE David Thomas (concussion, out) is inactive. Jimmy Graham remains the Saints' go-to tight end and a weekly start in fantasy leagues.

Devery Henderson active (11:35 a.m. ET): The New Orleans Saints' official Twitter feed reports that WR Devery Henderson (calf, questionable) is active. His questionable tag, coupled with Marques Colston's absence from the injury report, hints that Colston should play a far larger role this week than last, with Henderson suffering in terms of snaps/targets. Avoid him.

Mike Goodson inactive (11:34 a.m. ET): The Carolina Panthers' official Twitter feed reports that RB Mike Goodson (illness, probable) is inactive.

Jeremy Shockey active (11:34 a.m. ET): The Carolina Panthers' official Twitter feed reports that TE Jeremy Shockey (head, probable) is active. He's not a recommended fantasy option, though; Greg Olsen remains the Panthers' tight end to own.

Bernard Berrian inactive (11:30 a.m. ET): The Minnesota Vikings' official Twitter feed reports that Bernard Berrian is inactive. It's unexpected but considering how poorly Berrian has played the past calendar year, it's not much of a loss for the Vikings. This is a healthy scratch.

Adrian Peterson active (11:30 a.m. ET): The Minnesota Vikings' official Twitter feed reports that RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) is active. He wasn't at all a risk to sit and remains a must-start in all fantasy leagues.

Antoine Winfield inactive (11:30 a.m. ET): The Minnesota Vikings' official Twitter feed reports that CB Antoine Winfield (neck, doubtful) is inactive. This is a plus for both Kevin Kolb and
Larry Fitzgerald of the opposing Cardinals. Fitzgerald remains a clear No. 1 fantasy wideout, and Kolb is an upper-tier No. 2 quarterback (meaning a start in two-QB leagues and a viable fill-in if your starter is on bye).

Maurice Jones-Drew active (11:29 a.m. ET): The Jacksonville Jaguars' official Twitter feed reports that RB Maurice Jones-Drew (not injury related) is active. Not that there was any real worry. He's well worth having in any fantasy lineup, as the clear focal point of the Jaguars' offense.

Zach Miller inactive (11:29 a.m. ET): The Jacksonville Jaguars' official Twitter feed reports that TE Zach Miller (shoulder, doubtful) is inactive.

Jon Baldwin inactive (11:27 a.m. ET): Josh Looney of the Kansas City Chiefs reports that WR Jon Baldwin (thumb, probable) is inactive. He won't make his NFL debut until after the team's bye.
