Can't Find My Way Home
Here are the three worst September road trips for contending teams:

1. Arizona's Sept. 18-28 trip to L.A. for three games, San Fransisco for five and Colorado for four before returning home to finish the season with three games against the Giants.

2. Anaheim's 13-game voyage from Sept. 15-28. On that trip they will go to Minnesota, Kansas City, Texas and Oakland before finishing the season at home with three games against the Mariners.

3. Cleveland's 12-game, 10-day trip from Sept. 15-24. They will go to New York for four games, Boston for five in three days and Kansas City for three.

Meeting People is Easy
"I must be the only player in the majors today that doesn't hunt, fish or play golf."

-- Walt Weiss

They now sell El Guapo T-shirts outside of Fenway Park. Man, the Rich Garces Cult is huge.

Already Gone
With help from the Elias Sports Bureau, ESPN's Jeff Bennett found a positive spin to Jose Lima's 40th gopher ball allowed on the season Friday night. The only other National League pitchers besides Lima to have allowed 40 homers in a season were Robin Roberts and Phil Niekro, who are both in the Hall of Fame. Roberts and Niekro each did it twice.

Lost in the Ozone Again
Red Sox legend (D)Izzy Alcantara was honored before Thursday night's Pawtucket game as the team's MVP. By the way, Izzy was late to the park that night and was thus scratched from the lineup by manager Gary Jones.

Ignite Your Dreams
The Yankees were 13th in the American League in runs scored on June 17. Eleven days later they made their first move, trading for David Justice. Jose Canseco and Glenallen Hill came to New York later on. Now, the Yankees find themselves fifth in the AL in runs scored, with several extra bullets to play with.
