Bill Haas gets poetic in describing his underdog role against Phil Mickelson: "I was just hiding in the middle of the fairway."

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Better? Jon Rahm thinks he can get even better?! Yep.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Jon Rahm dominated both matches Saturday but there IS a part of the game that's hard for him.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Bill Haas beats Phil Mickelson and I can officially toss out all these notes I've been putting together on a column about a Phil-Rahm match.

How hot was Spaniard Jon Rahm on the golf course Saturday? In two matches he's -10 with eight birdies and an eagle. Did I mention he's done that in 27 holes?! Rahm finished the morning match on the 14th hole and the afternoon match on the 13th. He's yet to play the 18th hole this week in a match.

Question: Does Jon Rahm have the right kind of game for Augusta National? Answer: Jon Rahm has the right kind of game for everywhere.

Dominating win by Jon Rahm over Soren Kjeldsen 7&5 meaning Rahm is the first to make it into the final four Sunday.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Jon Rahm played 27 holes today -- in 11-under. That's an eagle, nine birdies and no bogeys. Oh, and he only lost one hole all day.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Just in case you didn't know, the hole locations are changed between the morning and afternoon matches. You can compare the differences.

Why is Dustin Johnson dominating so much on this course? On the 7th tee I ran into a friend who gets the signals from caddies for which club a players is hitting (for tv broadcast) and he told me thru 7 holes DJ hadn't hit anything on a par four bigger than a wedge! On the par five 6th hole from 220 yards away, Johnson hit 6 iron!

Everything is bigger in Texas? I can vouch for the golf tournament being big because HOF'er and Texas native Tom Kite is out walking around marveling at the atmosphere here in Austin.

The 6th green is very close to the first green so when the Dustin Johnson vs. Alex Noren match went thru the first, the crowd turned around and gathered at the sixth awaiting the first afternoon match of Phil Mickelson vs. Bill Haas to arrive.

Here's the Quarter Finals of the WGC-Match Play bracket of players going out this afternoon trying to get to Sunday. Potentially we could have a Phil Mickelson vs. Dustin Johnson final. We could also potentially have a Soren Kjeldsen vs. Alex Noren final as well.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Quarterfinals are now set. --Mickelson vs. Haas --Rahm vs. Kjeldsen --Fisher vs. Tanihara --D.Johnson vs. Noren

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Dustin Johnson rolls on. Asked him the other day if he can be intimidating to an opponent. "I don't know. You have to ask them." Fair point.

Jason Sobel ESPN Senior Writer

Phil Mickelson is 4-0-0 at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play Championship and is still worried that he hasn't seen the last three holes of Austin Country Club because he's been beating guys too quickly. That is... PEAK PHIL.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Jon Rahm started the year ranked 137th in the world. Just a little something to keep in mind when he breaks into the top-10 soon.
