Parenting Under Par

The competitors at the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship rely on skill and a good caddie -- or as they usually refer to them, mom and dad.

Colin Montgomerie contending at the Champions Tour event and I bet Darren Clarke is kicking himself for not saving that last captain's pick.

For the fifth straight year -- half the life of the FedEx Cup playoffs -- we've had a multiple winner in the same year in the four playoff events. With his Tour Championship win Sunday and his Deutsche Bank Championship victory on Labor Day, Rory McIlroy becomes the eighth player to win more than one playoff event in the same year. Coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe the elite-level players are taking the playoffs more seriously than many, myself included, expected.

Ryan Moore on his Ryder Cup prospects: "I was not thinking about that at all. I was thinking about winning the golf tournament today."

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Ryan Moore may have finished second at the Tour Championship but his little guy is not in the mood for a press conference. Where's Riley Curry to give the kid some tips?!

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Rory McIlroy, when asked last year about potential of winning $10 million: "Luckily, that amount of money doesn't mean much to me anymore."

The 16th green is almost 1000 yards away from the media center and we heard the roars for both putts in here!!!

On the fourth extra hole, Rory McIlroy rolls in a 14-foot birdie putt to win the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup titles. Oh, and a not-so-shabby monetary prize of ... $11.53 million.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Rory McIlroy is your FedEx Cup and Tour Championship winner. Two trophies and a cool $11.53 million for his troubles. Fantastic ending.

RORY DRAINS THE PUTT!!! Let's play some more!!!! On to the 16th hole and now darkness might come into play soon.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Rory McIlroy putted first from 64' and left his putt 7' short!! Ryan Moore chipping from the deep rough 35' away chipped to within a foot!!

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Would it be just a little ironic if the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup ended up being decided on a par 3 anyway?!

Bob Harig @BobHarig

If Ryan Moore wins the playoff....Dustin Johnson gets $10-million. If Rory wins the playoff... Dustin Johnson gets $3-million

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Rory McIlroy is playing for two trophies, the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup. Ryan Moore can only win the Tour Championship and if he wins Dustin Johnson wins the FedEx Cup and $10 million dollars!!

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Ryan Moore drains the par save, Rory McIlroy follows up with his own par. They'll now go to the par 3 15th hole to try and decide a winner.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Miss. Ryan Moore has 4' to save par...

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

One more chance... Rory has 17' to win the FedEx Cup...
