Parenting Under Par

The competitors at the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship rely on skill and a good caddie -- or as they usually refer to them, mom and dad.

One more chance... Rory has 17' to win the FedEx Cup...

Ryan Moore shoots a bogey free 64 and is going toe to toe with Rory McIlroy in a playoff to win the Tour Championship. If he's not the Ryder Cup pick, Davis Love III better hope no golf fans are watching halftime of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears game.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

After he fielded Ryder Cup questions yesterday, I asked Ryan Moore if he was thinking about the Presidents Cup yet. He laughed, I think.

And then there were two!! Rory McIlroy misses eagle putt to win it all but Ryan Moore drains a 9'4" putt for birdie to extend the playoff!!! Kevin Chappell can only manage a par so he's out. Back to the 18th tee!!!!

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Rory McIlroy and Ryan Moore move on for what's now a two-man playoff after Rory "only" made birdie on the first extra hole.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Rory McIlroy, one month ago: "As long as I keep seeing tiny little improvements each week, I'll be happy." Uh-oh. Happy learned how to putt.

Hey spectators, it's a golf tournament, please refrain from picking up golf balls!!! We hit it off line sometimes

Dustin Johnson's 3-over 73 was the worst score in the 29-man field today. Now he waits to see if it was enough to get him $10 million.

Three-man Tour Championship playoff: Rory McIlroy, Ryan Moore and Kevin Chappell. If McIlroy wins, he also wins FedEx Cup. If either Moore/Chappell win, Dustin Johnson wins FedEx Cup.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Dustin Johnson shoots a final round 73 and now must become a big fan of Ryan Moore and Kevin Chappell because if Rory McIlroy wins the three man playoff, McIlroy wins the FedEx Cup.

Three-man playoff: McIlroy, Moore and Chappell. If McIlroy wins, he also wins FedEx Cup. If either Moore/Chappell win, DJ wins FedEx Cup.

Ryan Moore and Kevin Chappell are tied for the Tour Championship lead with one hole to play. Neither will win the FedEx Cup, though, unless Dustin Johnson bogeys the par-5 closing hole.

Justin Thomas' FedEx Cup playoff run is over. He told us earlier in the week as soon as he signed his scorecard Sunday the 'stache (named Johnson after Johnson Wagner) was gone... I said I would shave it for him. We are men of our word...

Phil Mickelson took the PGA Tour to task for not setting up East Lake with more favorable conditions that will be helpful next week at the Ryder Cup. "The European Tour would never have the setup be so different the week before the Ryder Cup,'' he said. "This is a great example of the disconnect we have on the U.S. side.'' Mickelson has been behind a push to change the U.S. fortunes at the Ryder Cup, but the Tour Championship is the season-ending event on the PGA Tour, not a random event that could be tailored to help next week. Not to mention, it pays a $10-million bonus to the winner of the FedEx Cup.
