Jeter: Golf most frustrating sport I've played

Tiger won't be playing alone on Saturday. He tees off at 12:26 p.m. with Rickie Fowler Both are -6, 6 shots off the lead.

Nobody knows for sure if Tiger Woods was contractually obligated to play a Nike putter but his answer Friday to a question about when he put the Scotty Cameron model back in his hands -- he won 13 of his 14 majors with it -- is telling. "The day (NIke) got out of the hard-goods side,'' Woods said Friday after shooting 65. Many were surprised when Woods ditched the Cameron at the 2010 Open and went full-time with a Nike Method (mostly) from 2011 on. Woods won some $80-million in prize money with that putter from 1999 through 2010.

Final score: 65. Total time: 2:54. Fun to watch Tiger Woods get back into that rhythm and gain even more momentum today. Yesterday was a nice first step in the right direction. Today was another one.

Matt Kuchar just walked off the 9th hole saw Tiger Woods on the 18th green. He gave me a fist bump as he crossed to the 10th tee saying, "He's back!"

Two-putt par for Tiger Woods on the 17th. Bogey-free round going to the final hole. Still 7-under.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

After the HUGE par save at the 16th hole as Tiger walked by me I said, "Great putt!" He looked at me still pumped up saying, "'Bout damned time!" Yep, 'ol competitor Tiger Woods is definitely still in there.

Jason Sobel ESPN Senior Writer

All world par save for Tiger Woods on 16. Two shots from the waste bunker, then drains the 20-footer. That was tremendous.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

First bad drive of the back nine off the 16th tee leaves Tiger Woods, as the English would say, "In a spot of bother!" He did not take relief from the camera truck.
