Jesper Parnevik DID see Tiger Woods hitting the ball very well -- in May. The interview he did for Golf Digest that is to appear in the November issue as part of a lengthy Q&A was conducted during the spring when Woods' return was rumored to be soon. "I had seen him practicing,'' Parnevik said from the this week's Champions Tour event in Raleigh, N.C. "I thought his swing was great. With all the injuries he had been through, his back, he looked really good. But I never saw him all summer.'' Last week Golf Digest excerpted part of the interview in which Parnevik said Woods was "flushing everything'' and that regarding his comeback "something tells me this might be spectacular.'' It was at odds with Woods withdrawing this week from the Safeway Classic because his game was not ready. "I wish I had more to update,'' Parnevik said. "But it was an old quote.''
