Tiger Woods' caddie Joe LaCava: "My goal was to get him through five rounds on his feet. He feels great now, which is a huge positive."

Bob Harig ESPN Senior Writer

Tiger Woods won't be happy with his final round at the Hero World Challenge (76) but he can't be upset when looking at the big picture in his return to competitive golf after 15 months. There was far more good than bad, with surprising power and length with all of his clubs. Woods made 24 birdies for the week out of 72 holes, but played the par-5s in just 4 under par. He also made 6 double bogeys for the week including 3 Sunday. There are plenty of positives, and yet plenty of room for improvement, too.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

That's a final-round 76 for Tiger Woods. Felt like the tank reached empty by Sunday afternoon. All in all, good first step in his return.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Back to back birdies for Tiger Woods now means thru six holes on his final nine, Woods has ONE par. Tiger is 2 over for the day with five birdies, three bogeys, and two double bogeys. I did tell you about the rollercoaster ride right?!

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Tiger makes a birdie at the 14th. There is just no way to get off this rollercoaster for four more holes.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

It took four holes but Tiger Woods finally makes a par (13th hole) he's -4 for the tournament in solo 15th leading Russell Knox and Emiliano Grillo.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Hideki Matsuyama now leads by eight strokes with nine holes left to play. I'm starting to think he might be able to win this thing.

Bogey-Double-Bogey for Tiger Woods on the back nine. For some, this is the Tiger they expected to see all week.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Tiger Woods just made his second double-bogey of the day and fifth of the week. Maybe that's not a red shirt after all. It's just rust.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

That's a bogey-double bogey start to the back nine for Tiger Woods. If I had something witty or funny to say about it, this is where I would have put it.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

The Tiger Woods rollercoaster is now boarding! Bogey at the 10th hole after three birdies in a row. Please keep all hands and feet in the vehicle at all times.

Jason Sobel ESPN Senior Writer

Tiger Woods started his front-nine with a birdie hat trick yesterday. He ends the front-nine with a birdie hat trick today. That comes on the heels of a bogey and double-bogey, though, as he goes out in even-par 36 to begin his final round.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

A nice chip to tap in range on the par five 9th hole means Tiger Woods birdie his last three holes on the front nine and makes the turn even on his round and -8 overall.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Tiger Woods started his front-nine with a birdie hat trick yesterday. He ends the front-nine with a birdie hat trick today.

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Apparently all I had to do is was say Tiger Woods was playing tired... back to back birdies at the 7th and 8th holes have him now at +1 for the day and -7 for the tournament

Michael Collins ESPN Senior Writer

Tiger Woods is going the wrong way. Bogey at the 5th hole and a double bogey at the 6th hole drops Tiger to -5 in a tie for 13th. Tiger looks like a guy whose energy is depleted. Having been gone for so long he's on fumes in this final round.

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

No reason to believe Tiger Woods hasn't also worn a red shirt on the last 67 Sunday afternoons when he wasn't playing golf.

Bob Harig ESPN Senior Writer

Tiger Woods, of course, has been the big story this week at the Hero World Challenge, but Hideki Matsuyama leads by 7 heading into the final round and he is 11 strokes in front of Woods. No matter, said the player who has won three of his last four worldwide starts and risen to sixth in the world. "You know only Tiger could take a year and a half off and put up the numbers that he's putting up this week,'' Matsuyama said. "I don't care how many strokes I'm leading over him, I still worry about him, fear him.''
