The decision on whether to move the PGA Championship to May -- thus necessitating a move to March for the Players Championship and allowing the PGA Tour season to end earlier -- also impacts the European Tour. CEO Keith Pelley said Wednesday at the BMW PGA Championship many decisions for his tour await the PGA Championship decision -- which is not far off. "The PGA of America says they're going to determine whether the PGA Championship is moved to May by the end of August this year,'' he said. "If that's the case, we are going to have to look at everything.''

Speaking publicly for the first time since a fourth back surgery last month, Tiger Woods posted a status update to his personal website Wednesday afternoon -- and he sounded optimistic about his long-term future. "It is hard to express how much better I feel," he said. "It was instant nerve relief. I haven't felt this good in years." As to whether he believes he can return to competitive golf, Woods didn't mince words: "Unequivocally, I want to play professional golf again."

Tiger Woods' latest surgery provided "instant nerve relief" the 14-time major champion said Wednesday in a statement on his web site. It's been nearly a month since Woods underwent back fusion surgery on April 19. That was his fourth back surgery since March, 2014. The surgery, according to Woods' surgeon and physiotherapist, was successful. "It's just a matter of not screwing up and letting it fuse," Woods said. As for any retirement talk, Woods made clear that he has no intention of hanging up his golf spikes. "But, I want to say unequivocally, I want to play professional golf again," he said.
