David Lee doesn't need surgery, per his agent Mark Bartelstein. He's got a sprained patellar tendon that should heal in about six weeks.

There were concerns when Rory McIlroy had just three tournaments following an injury layoff to prepare for the Masters. Now it appears he'll have had just one going into the U.S. Open. McIlroy said Friday he would not be playing next week's Memorial Tournament due to a lingering rib injury that kept him out of action earlier this year and also caused him to skip the European Tour's BMW PGA Championship this week. McIlroy's lone tournament since the Masters was the Players Championship, where he disclosed the injury was bothering him again.

The greats that I was around/played with (Jerry Rice, Deion Sanders) practiced at intensity levels that most guys were not willing to.

Senior PGA Championship (1st Round) Bernhard Langer: leads by 2 strokes; tied with Jack Nicklaus for most PGA TOUR Champions majors (8)

Rory McIlroy @McIlroyRory

Wentworth looks mint this week. Gutted not to be there, but well done to everyone involved getting the course back to where it should be!

Jason Sobel @JasonSobelESPN

Bernhard Langer is co-leading the Senior PGA. Which is good, because the poor guy hasn't won a senior major championship in five whole days.
