New Jersey's Baltusrol will host PGA Championship

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. -- Baltusrol Golf
Club in Springfield, N.J., will host the PGA Championship
in 2016, officials announced on Wednesday.

Baltusrol, the A.W. Tillinghast-designed course where Phil Mickelson
won the PGA title in 2005, has staged seven U.S. Opens and
two U.S. Women's Opens.

The 2016 championship falls in the centennial year of the
PGA of America, which was founded in 1916 in New York.

"[Baltusrol] is one of the classic clubs in this country and being in
the metropolitan New York area was important to us," PGA of
America CEO Joe Steranka said.

This year's 90th PGA Championship begins on Thursday at
Oakland Hills Country Club.
