Kuchar, who won the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club in June, will become the 19th player to pair with Woods in team competition at either the Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup.
The competition gets underway at 11:45 a.m. ET and the other matches are as follows:
• Kuchar and Woods (U.S.) vs. Cabrera and Leishman;
Woods has 20-14-1 record in seven previous Presidents Cup appearances, and Kuchar went 1-3-1 two years ago in Australia. Kuchar was 2-1 at the Ryder Cup last year, while Woods was 0-3-1.
U.S. captain Fred Couples revived the Mickelson-Bradley tandem, which went 3-0 last year at the Presidents Cup.
On Friday, the format changes to six foursomes (alternate shot) followed by two sessions on Saturday: five four-ball and five foursomes. There will be 12 singles matches Sunday for a total of 34 points.
The U.S. leads the overall competition 7-1-1 and has won the last four matches by at least three points.
