Rod Pampling, Greg Chalmers and Brett Rumford finished second, third and fourth, respectively, Sunday at the Australian Open, thus claiming spots in 2015's third major of the year, the Open Championship.
The Australian trio received invitations into the field at St. Andrews as part of the Open Qualifying Series, where during select events, the three highest finishers in the tournament that were not previously exempt for the 144th Open earn a spot, to be played July 16-19.
American Jordan Spieth, who is already qualified for the 2015 Open Championship, won the Australian Open on Sunday for his second career victory after the 21-year-old shot a final-round 63 to win by 6 shots.
The next event in the Open Qualifying series is the Thailand Golf Championship, which will be held Dec. 11-14.
