Putt falls; Stewart wins second Open
Payne Stewart came to Pinehurst No. 2 looking for redemption for his close call in last year's U.S. Open. He got his wish, making a 20-footer to save par on No. 16, knocking his drive stiff for a 4-foot birdie on No. 17, then saving par with a 15-footer on No. 18 to hold off Phil Mickelson by one shot on Sunday. It was the second U.S. Open title for Stewart, who beat Scott Simpson at Hazeltine in a 1991 playoff. FULL STORY
