A 6-6, 210-pound right-handed pitcher from Claxton, Ga., Michael is the son of Kathy and Hal Peel. A two-sport star in football and baseball at Claxton High School, he is a two-time recipient of the pitching award for the Tigers and coach Donny Sikes. He earned All-State and All-Region 3-A honors as a junior along with the team%u2019s hitting award. He has been the ace for the Tigers the past three seasons. Peel has played on the Round Trip Baseball summer league team that reached the final eight of the World Wood Bat Association 18U Tournament. He has been named to the Perfect Game Underclass All American 2nd Team.
"It is a dream come true to become a part of the Bulldog family," said Peel.
"We're excited to have Michael become a Bulldog, and we even considered bringing him in January because he's going to be ready to contribute once he steps on campus," said (Georgia head coach David) Perno.
