Lax title on tap at ESPNHS Games

The 2012 ESPNHS Games are taking place this week at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Thousands of high school athletes are taking part in the fourth annual event, which features competition in football, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, softball, field hockey, and track and field.

Here are some highlights from Thursday's action at the ESPNHS Games:

Champion All-American Showcase (Boys' Lacrosse)

Team Freedom was undefeated in pool play with a 3-0 record heading into the championship game. Freedom will face Team Spirit in the finals, a game that will air Friday night on ESPNU at 7 p.m. ET. You can watch the game here.

Jake Froccaro for Team Freedom has a tournament-leading 10 goals, while Sam Llinares has seven goals and six assists for the squad. The potent offense of Team Freedom (42 goals in three games) should be a good matchup for Team Spirit, which had the least goals allowed in pool play with 23. Spirit's goalies, Jack Connelly and Matthew Sigmund, have a 61.7 save percentage.

US Lacrosse Girls' U15 National Championship Powered by Lacrosse Unlimited

Sky Walkers 2015 Blue (Md.) won the national championship, defeating Yellow Jackets Team 2 (N.Y.) 14-6 in the title game. Elizabeth George had five goals and three assists and Miranda Ibello had three goals and three assists for the Sky Walkers.

AAU Boys' Basketball Super Showcase presented by Champion

Each 1 Teach 1 from Florida defeated the Texas Titans 72-60 in a game televised on ESPNU Thursday night. The Texas Titans have three ESPN 100 players in Julius Randle, Matt Jones and Damian Jones. Each 1 Teach 1 has top performers in the ESPN 60 in Dakari Johnson and Joel Berry. Read more here from RecruitingNation.

USSSA 16U Fast Pitch World Series

The teams with the best records heading into Friday's games are Cincy Magic 16U (Ohio), Dutchess Debs (N.Y.) and Tuff-e-Nuff (Ala.), which are all 5-0. Cincy Magic has scored 34 runs and allowed only six in the tournament.
