Now entering its 12th year, the Elite 11 Quarterback Competition is a four-day event which brings together the top high school quarterbacks and focuses on improving their quarterbacking play both on and off the field.
A competition designed to give the best high school quarterbacks prepare for the next level and beyond, the Elite 11 has become the most prestigious quarterback event in the country.
A late-July event held annually in Southern California, the Elite 11 brings together the nation's top signal callers from both the high school and college level, as college counselors work the event, providing an invaluable resource to the top high schoolers who will be moving up to that same level the following year.
Past players to participate at the event include Heisman Trophy winners Jason White, Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, Troy Smith and Tim Tebow as well Drew Brees, Jay Cutler, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers, JaMarcus Russell, Trent Edwards, Matt Schaub, Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez and many more.
The final 12 high school quarterbacks for the event are selected after thorough tape evaluation, a telephone interview and an in-person workout, whether it be a NIKE Football Training Camp or an EA SPORTS Elite 11 QB Regional Camp.
The spring itinerary for the 2010 EA SPORTS Elite 11 QB Regional Camps is listed below. Top high school quarterbacks around the country are invited to workout to not only compete for a spot in the final Elite 11 Quarterback Competition in July, but also to receive advanced, one-on-one quarterback instruction. There is also a tremendous opportunity for exposure, as each event is covered by ESPN both online and on television.
The EA SPORTS Elite 11 QB Regional Camps run for two hours. The first hour is station work, as quarterbacks rotate through different stations, with each station containing a useful drill to improve each player. The second hour of the camp is throwing routes to wide receivers. The quarterbacks will begin with three-step drop throws (hitches, slants) and then progress through the passing tree with five and seven step drop throws. Each Elite 11 QB Regional Camp will also have a special accuracy competition.
To secure a spot in one of the 2010 camps, QBs can send in a highlight DVD to be evaluated or have their coach recommend them as a top level QB prospect. For more info please contact
