What can we say? This class is UConn-esque.

Of the 13 prospects from California in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100, Cori Close has verbals from four of them.

Take your pick of headliners in the No. 1 class in the nation, but we'll start with Jordin Canada, a 5-foot-6 point guard from Los Angeles and the No. 6 prospect in the nation. As a junior at Windward, she averaged 17 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds -- for a 32-1 team that was ranked fifth in the nation in the final espnW 25 Power Rankings.

She is joined by fellow Californians Lajahna Drummer, a 6-2 forward and the No. 8 prospect in the country; Kelli Hayes, a 6-1 wing ranked 26th; and Monique Billings, a 6-2 forward ranked 37th.

Rounding out the class is Recee' Caldwell, a 5-8 point guard and the No. 9 prospect in the nation. Caldwell is a Southern California native who moved to San Antonio when she was in fifth grade.

"I'm really confident in this class," Hayes said. "We all come from winning programs, and we want to create our legacies at UCLA."
