INSIDE THE CONNECTICUT HUSKIES' CLASS
With two McDonald's All Americans and a superstar from north of the border, Geno Auriemma and the two-time reigning national champions are simply reloading.
The Huskiess' 2014 class is headlined by the high-flying Gabby Williams, the No. 14 prospect in the class. The 5-foot-11 guard from Nevada finished fifth in the high jump at the 2012 U.S. Olympic trials. Unfortunately, the McDonald's All American was grounded each of the past two seasons with an ACL tear.
Sadie Edwards, the No. 17 prospect in the nation, is a smooth operator from arc to rim. She also was named a McDonald's All American.
Courtney Ekmark, the No. 31 prospect in the nation, is a flat-out winner. She sat out her senior season of high school after winning three state titles and one national title at St. Mary's (Phoenix, Ariz.).
And Kia Nurse, a 5-foot-11 wing and a member of the Canadian national team, brings big-time defense and versatility to Storrs.
