ESPN Player Evaluations

Battle-in-the-'Boro-July 2014: Ultra-athletic lead guard pushes tempo, attacks under control in transition; court awareness, passes with purpose; size, explosiveness off the bounce complemented by emerging mid-range game garners elite stature among guards nationally. (Olson)

Nike Nationals-July 2013: Explosively athletic combo-guard handles and attacks in transition, finishes with body control to rim; developing perimeter game consistency; superb size in the backcourt, anticipates defensively; a consistent uptempo producer. (Olson)

Cy-Fair Invitational-April 12: In basketball, speed kills. The ability to get from Point A to Point B faster than your opponent is an asset that can hold value at any position on the floor. When it comes in the mold of a true play-making point guard, her team is always a play away from an easy basket. Higgs, of Houston, Texas, has the ability to provide a team with this extra dynamic. Above all, Higgs is a promising young point guard prospect who has the potential to be one of the top players at her position in her class. One of the things that has allowed her to excel at an early age is her elite-level athleticism, which allows her to make plays on both sides of the ball. A couple of times Higgs was able to grab a defensive rebound and ignite a fast break just by out-running the opposing team. On another occasion, Higgs split a trap while seeming to just turn on the speed and managed to turn a team's attempt to press into an opportunity for her to get an uncontested layup. Higgs will have to continue to improve her ability to run a team and be a vocal leader as a true point guard, but she has three more years to continue to season her game. Until then it will be fun to watch everyone try to keep up with her. (Moore)

Bayou-July 11: Higgs is in the upper tier of super athletes and for a youngster, her natural feel for playmaking doesn't seem to fit. She is fearless attacking the basket and can contort her body around traffic and get legitimate shots up in and amongst the trees. What sets her game off is that she has vision and ability to punish collapsing defenses with a dynamite pass. She sometimes appears out of control but that is just a product of trying to make plays and not having the patience of a more experienced player. She can be dominant on defense as well. (Hansen)

AAU Nationals-July 11: Has a chance to be a game changer at the point due to her ability to score at all three levels and pass the basketball. Is almost impossible to guard in one on one situations. (Moore)
