Kelsey Bone, is a 6-foot-3 post out of Stafford, Texas.

The most striking aspect of Bone as a prospect is her maturity, leadership abilities and communication skills - many of which are unusual for a post. In fact, the way Bone communicates on defense, as the backbone of any defense, is a coach's dream. She also is competitive, gregarious and caring - three huge qualities for leadership in a female game.

Bone also has a fine work ethic, which isn't always reflected in the finer parts of her game because she does not receive high-level instruction and reinforcement on a consistent basis. When honed in, Bone knows how to make herself big on the box, seal off defenders, protect the ball, go low to high, use footwork for pet moves and use counters. She has a powerful, decisive drop-step move in such cases and can counter with a jump hook.

Like many young players, however, Bone is prone to drifting away from such fundamentals, which essentially shrinks her down and makes her manageable for defenses.

The same goes for Bone as a defender. She can be a determined, one-on-one defender on the blocks, using her size and leverage well. She can be a dominant rebounder and above-average shot-blocker and help defender. But, again, Bone also can resort to depending on her considerable physical gifts and not block out or pursue the ball off the glass.

Bone's intelligence and commitment strongly suggests that any inconsistencies in her game are correctable when paired with high-level and consistent coaching in college, thus conferring huge upside to an already excellent player.
