ESPN Player Evaluations

Boo Williams-April 09: Tennessee Flight coach Tom Insell didn't need a bailout from Washington, D.C., but he got one anyway in the form of point guard Ronika Ransford. The H.D. Woodson standout, No. 39 in the ESPN HoopGurlz Super Sixty, is a dynamic and explosive threat anytime she steps on the court. Her ability to get by even the best of defenders leads to her own looks or easy pitches to her very talented teammates, once the help rotates. Additionally, when defenders back off, she has a smooth stroke and can light it up on the perimeter. Ransford also has a very effective pull up in her arsenal to go along with one of the few true jump shots out there.

TOC Dec. 08 II: Explosive point guard who may well define the word attack. She has the quickness and ballhandling to get by almost any defender and can finish in traffic with ease. If the defensive rotations come she can stop on a dime and nail the short pull-up. Range may me in question, not due to ability, but from a lack of having to demonstrate it. Success on the next level will come in the form of making the players around her better once she draws defensive attention.

TOC Dec. 08 I: H.D. Woodson (Washington, D.C.) was playing without star post Jeniece Johnson at the TOC but 5-8 junior guard Ronika Ransford did her best to pick up the slack. She penetrates both right and left with ease and is a player always on the attack. Getting stronger to finish after the inevitable contact in the lane in the college game is needed to her take her game to the next level as a more consistent finisher.
