Bojangles Jan. 09: The top performer of the tournament was Nikki Burton . Burton ended the tournament with averages of 18 points, 11 rebounds, 3assists and 2 steals - gaudy numbers for the 5-11 Louisville signee. Burton was particularly special on the glass showing great leaping ability and some really strong hands in snaring rebounds. She was explosive around the rim with her finishes and showed great quickness in transition. On the defensive end, she showed her quickness and natural instincts by causing a lot of turnovers.

Summer 08 II: Quickness and explosiveness personified. Burton is a point guard that makes things happen constantly and will punish any defender taking a possession off. She is really at home attacking baseline and forcing the defense to collapse. She elevates and finishes when it's her turn as well as distributes. Controlling her team and getting the ball to the right person in the half court, being more a floor leader, is where she needs to improve to take over a big time D-1 program which her talent suggests she should.

Summer 08 II: There are a select number of players in each class with ridiculous amounts of quickness and in this class Nikki Burton of Charlotte, N.C., belongs in that group. The 5-10 guard has the jets to really push the break and the quickness to get by just about any would-be defender. But "quick" isn't quite enough to describe Burton -- "explosive" hits the spot. Getting to the rim comes as second nature.
