ESPN Player Evaluations

Boo Williams-April 11: Walton continues to impress with her willingness to be an interior player and do the dirty work. She is physical, she rebounds, she defends, while still playing the AZ Warriors hot potato style of offense. She was a little gun shy early in the tournament so unfortunately we didn't see the best of her offensive skill set. Love her attitude on and off the floor as well. In class that lacks depth in the post, this forward-center prospect continues to prove she is a BCS level talent with room to grow her game. (Hansen)

Nike TOC-Dec. 2010: Demonstrated some more effective low post moves and a focused attack. Appears physically stronger and seems to be playing a mature and smart game. Was able to connect from the high post and made a couple of one dribble drives through traffic. Could be a more dominant presence on the boards but still comes up with her share. (Lewis)

USJN DC-July 10: Still looking more impressive physically but having a little trouble finding consistency. Not playing poorly but not delivering top tier play on every possession. The potential is there and it's obvious in flashes. (Lewis)

Summer Showcase-July 10: This 6-2 forward and Phoenix, Ariz., native appears to be one of those athletes who's just coming into her own. While no stranger to exposure events or high caliber competition, Walton's performance in Chicago may be just a sign of things to come. Appearing more physically mature and visibly stronger, her play is much quicker and more of a reaction rather than the thought that it has been in the recent past. Her attack in the post is much more aggressive and she demonstrated a drop step that put defenders on her back while giving her some good looks at the rim. She's never been hesitant to defend physically and seems to be more comfortable than ever protecting the paint on the opponent's end of the floor. Walton's work ethic appears to have been shifted into high gear and could be taking her play to another level. (Nelson)

Looking bigger, stronger and more physically mature. More aggressive all over the floor but particularly on the block. Actively looking for the ball down low and using a well refined dropstep. Constantly works on the boards and at the defensive end. May well be just scratching the surface. (Lewis)

Nike Skills-May '10: Nice forward with all the physical tools...Strong body... She wasn't as active and aggressive this time out and didn't do much to create her own opportunities down low or from the elbows... Has lots of potential but needs to be more assertive in her play every time she's on the floor.

Nike TOC-Dec. 09: Lean, athletic forward-center who attacks. Posts up effectively and is able to finish inside. Can put it on the floor from the high post a bit but needs to expand her offensive arsenal to take advantage of her size and athleticism. Her wingspan and physical presence also makes her potentially an imposing defender.

She has an athletic, commanding stature on the low block. Despite being trim, Cortnee gets low and wide on her post up, forcing defenders to get a body on her and show help. She finished strong both baseline or middle, and from either block. She seemed very natural attacking from the elbow, and rebounds nicely giving her team many second shot opportunities. On the defensive end, Cortnee rarely got posted up or caught out of position this week. She was solid on both ends of the floor.

Deep South Classic-April 09: Very athletic for either post or forward, uses shot fakes, can put the ball on the floor.
