ESPN Player Evaluations

Nike TOC-Dec. 10: Continues to impress and advance her game even as a senior. Constantly attacking at both ends of the floor and demonstrates a versatility that makes her a real catch for the folks in South Bend. While her skills and approach are fundamental and textbook, you can't help but notice her ability to get off the floor. Whether it's on her own shot or blocking an opponent's at the other end, she rises above the crowd. As much as she's doing now, her true potential should come out in the college game. (Lewis)

Deep South-April 10: She is very smooth and athletic, has nice rise and release on her jump shot. Does a good job finishing layups.

Nike TOC-Dec. 09:Hustling and scrapping player who simply makes plays. Solid fundamentally and makes good decisions. Slight build but decent height on the perimeter. Very young looking. The kind of player who is essential to a complete recruiting class.

It often is said that competition brings out the best in players. It's also been stated that adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it. Either way you slice it, in a hotly contested match-up today at the highly regarded Nike Tournament of Champions, Mt. Lebanon's (Pittsburgh, Pa.) Madison Cable was at her best when times were the toughest versus a quick and talented Memphis Central (Memphis, Tenn.) team.

Cable presents good height on the guard line at 5-11, but her heart and will to win are immeasurable. She is that kid who did everything right. She played hard. She encouraged and cheered for teammates. She generated energy. She understood her competition and masterfully found ways to outplay them. And, oh yeah, the kid's got talent to boot.

Madison has a nifty fade-away jumper that stung Memphis Central more than a few times on Monday morning. She strokes the ball nicely with a soft touch to finish. Adding to her accurate marksmanship is an ability to distribute the ball well and get teammates involved offensively. She demonstrated a mind for defense combined with a determined work ethic, which makes her an asset on both sides of the ball. As Cable continues to elevate her game with her passion and determination, her stock will continue to rise from those looking to recruit her
