St. Clair leads team to victory

Steven St. Clair knows how to fill up a stat sheet. The senior plays offense, defense and has taken on the kick-off specialist role this season.

In John Carroll's final game of the season against Archbishop Curley, St. Clair rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns, passed for 124 yards and recorded 16 tackles on defense, leading his team to victory and earning MDVarsity.com Player of the Week.

"He gives you everything he has," John Carroll head coach Keith Rawlings said. "His leadership, when kids see someone like Steven giving everything he has, it brings kids to don't have his athletic ability to another level."

St. Clair helped to propel John Carroll to victory when he broke a punt return 26 yards with the score tied at 14 in the fourth quarter. That punt return set up a 22-yard touchdown run by Ian JK.

St. Clair sealed the victory with a 56-yard touchdown run later in the fourth quarter to give John Carroll a 27-14 victory.

St. Clair ended his senior season with 1,081 yards and 23 touchdowns on offense and was the team's second-leading tackler on defense with 95. He also led the team with five interceptions, returning one for a touchdown this season.

"I gave him a hug afterwards. I said to him I hope I get another one like him," Rawlings said. "He's a special young man, no question."

St. Clair's season has helped garner him interest from colleges according to Rawlings.

Navy, Delaware, Towson, Colgate, Penn and Princeton have all expressed interest in the senior.
