Orlando Launching Pad

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Orlando Nike Combine didn't produce the best weather conditions for combine testing, but a few underclassmen stood out among the 1,000 participants on a cold and soggy afternoon at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.

Here's a look at six players from the combine who have future star written all over them and what they need to do to get there.

Ryan Bishop - 6-0, 208, LB, Olympia (Orlando, Fla.) Class of 2012
Results: 4.96 40, 4.41 shuttle, 34-0 PB, 28.0 VJ, 74.13 SPARQ
Breakdown: This youngster goes both ways for head coach Bob Head. Last year he started at fullback and rushed for 200 yards on only 20 carries and a score. He has more upside at outside linebacker with his sideline-to-sideline quickness and football instincts. The 6-0, 208-pounder ran a 4.41 shuttle and tossed the power ball 34 feet.

Dante Fowler - 6-2.5, 224, DL, St. Petersburg Catholic (St. Petersburg, Fla.) Class of 2012
Results: 4.81 40, 5.31 shuttle, 31-0 PB, 28.9 VJ, 62.70 SPARQ Breakdown: Fowler is an effective pass rushing specialist. Last year at Lakewood, he picked up 56 tackles and 15.5 sacks. The 224-pound defensive lineman recorded a good 4.81 40 time. He has the frame to add more weight with losing his quickness off the edge.

Jonathon General - 5-11.5, 196, RB, Trinity Catholic (Ocala, Fla.) Class of 2012
Results: 4.69 40, 4.53 shuttle, 32-0 PB, 32.5 VJ, 80.31 VJ SPARQ Breakdown: The 5-11.5, 196-pound runner opened some eyes with an impressive combine performance particularly his 4.69 40 and 4.53 shuttle in wet conditions. He comes from a well coached winning program with rich tradition.

Brian Grove - 5-9, 181, RB, King's Academy (West Palm Beach, Fla.) Class of 2012
Results: 4.78 40, 4.75 shuttle, 33-0 PB, 35.3 VJ, 74.97 SPARQ Breakdown: Grove was selected Sun-Sentinel All-Palm Beach 3A-1A Honorable Mention during his sophomore season. He attends the same high school as former Dolphin and Patriot fullback, Heath Evans. Plays in a run heavy offense and should post solid stats next fall.

Hayward Summerall - 6-2, 347, OL, Auburndale (Auburndale, Fla.) Class of 2012
Results: 5.46 40, 5.60 shuttle, 36-0 PB, 23.0 VJ, 75.39 SPARQ Breakdown: Summerall shined with the top SPARQ Rating for an offensive lineman amongst a stellar group. The mammoth guard has a chance to make a name for him self on the camp and combine scene.

Kenneth Williams - 5-11.5, 175, DB, Vanguard (Lake Wales, Fla.) Class of 2012
Results: 4.67 40, 4.31 shuttle, 30-0 PB, 35.0 VJ, 83.61 SPARQ Breakdown: Williams tested well at the combine finishing among the top ten SPARQ Ratings with a 83.61. The under-the-radar safety clocked a 4.67 40 and jumped 35 inches on the vert test. If he keeps working hard in the weight room his body should add the size to be a well-rounded defender in the secondary.
