Campanologist won the fourth Group 1 race of his career, and second in as many races, in Sunday's Gran Premier Jockey Club Italiano at San Siro Racecourse in Italy.
Sent off as the 1-2 favorite, Campanologist, 6, closed from fifth in a field of six to win by 1 1/4 lengths over the 3-year-old Arrigo, who closed from last in the race over 1 1/2 miles. Campanologist was ridden by Frankie Dettori. The race was worth approximately $411,000.
Earlier this year, Campanologist won the Group 1 Preis Von Europa in Cologne, Germany. He won two Group 1 races in Germany in 2010 for Godolphin Racing and trainer Saeed bin Suroor.
* Vadamar, seventh in the English Derby in June, won for the first time since April in Sunday's Group 2 Prix du Conseil de Paris at Longchamp in Paris.
Ridden by Christophe Lemaire, Vadamar took the lead two furlongs into the race over 1 1/2 miles and won by a neck over Solemia, a 3-year-old filly. The race was worth approximately $189,400 and drew a field of seven.
Owned by The Aga Khan and trained by Alain de Royer-Dupre, Vadamar, a colt by Dalakhani, was third in the Group 2 Prix Niel at Longchamp in September.
