A common theme at this Aussie Open is how well the older generation has fared. And then there's Dominic Thiem -- who just won the opening set against David Goffin. The Austrian, 23, is the only men's player under 25 to make the round of 16.

Patriots beat Steelers 36-17 to advance to a record ninth Super Bowl. The ViewFromVegas is New England also covered after closing as a 5.5-point home favorite and it went over the closing total of 50 points. In the NFL playoffs, favorites are 8-2 SU and ATS while overs improved to 7-3 as faves and overs both swept the games today.

The Atlanta Falcons will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LI on Feb. 5 (6:30 p.m., FOX). It will be MVP frontrunner Matt Ryan vs. Tom Brady. Patriots lead the all-time series, 7-6. Last meeting was 2013, a 30-23 Pats' win in New England.

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

Tom Brady and the Patriots offense exploded at the right time, burying the Steelers 36-17 to set up a Super Bowl LI date with the high-flying Atlanta Falcons. Brady's 384 passing yards break his own Patriots franchise playoff record.

Jeremy Fowler ESPN Staff Writer

The lack of a viable No. 2 receiver on the outside finally caught up to the Steelers, whose supporting cast suffered several drops. Bill Belichick wanted to contain Antonio Brown (seven catches, 77 yards), and with Le'Veon Bell hurt, the Steelers didn't have a response.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Tom Brady is up to 384 yards passing versus the Steelers defense tonight. With Pittsburgh leaning on zone coverages, Brady targeted open windows and got the ball out to receivers in space. Tough to limit Brady when you don't challenge the Patriots' WRs at the line of scrimmage and play some man-technique.

Dave Tuley ESPN Staff Writer

New England remains a 3-point favorite over the Atlanta Falcons at the nine Las Vegas sports books with lines already posted. William is the only one with a line different from the standard 10-percent vig as it's moved to Patriots -3 (-120). Note: offshore books are shading the +3 line toward the Falcons. The over/under is 58 points in Vegas with the Wynn being the first to move to 58.5.

ESPN Stats and Information

Patriots receiver Chris Hogan has set the record for the most receiving yards in a postseason game by an undrafted player. The previous mark was 177 by Steve Watson for the Broncos in the 1984 Divisional Playoffs against the Steelers.

Matt Wilansky ESPN.com

After all of yesterday's chaos, a semblance of order was restored, as Serena Williams reaches the Aussie Open quarterfinals for the 11th time, breaking a tie with Martina Navratilova for the most by any woman in the Open era.

Good finish by Patriots CB Logan Ryan on the fade route. "Play the Pocket" drill for DBs. Close to the hip of the WR and play up though the hands. That's how you find the ball. Patriots get the fourth down stop on the end zone pass and still lead 33-9 in the fourth quarter.

Dave Tuley ESPN Staff Writer

Note: Jay Kornegay of the Westgate SuperBook says they were going to open the Super Bowl over/under at 57.5 but actually changed at last second and opened at 58. Offshore books opened between 56.5 and 57 and have been bet up to 57.5. Stratosphere opened at 57.5 while William Hill joined Westgate at 58.

Dave Tuley ESPN Staff Writer

ViewFromVegas of Super Bowl 51: The Westgate SuperBook is the first Vegas book to post odds with New England Patriots as 3-point favorites over the Atlanta Falcons with an over/under of 57.5 points.

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

A scene-setter from Gillette Stadium after LeGarrette Blount's rushing TD has given the Patriots a 27-9 lead with 2:44 remaining in the second quarter: Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" rocked in the stadium as the videoboard showed Bon Jovi himself in a private box singing along with the crowd. Bon Jovi is here as a guest of Robert Kraft.

ESPN Stats and Information

Chris Hogan currently has a Patriots postseason record 180 receiving yards.

Mike Reiss ESPN Staff Writer

Patriots leading special teams tackler Nate Ebner has a head injury and will not return to the game, the club announced. Ebner is the personal protector on the punt team, and also plays on the punt return, kickoff return and kickoff coverage units, so the Patriots have four different roles to fill.

Kevin Seifert NFL Nation

To clear up confusion on the Tom Brady fumble: There was in fact a fumble. But referee Terry McAulay ruled that there was no clear Steelers recovery, reverting the ball to the Patriots. And the replay did not show any conclusive evidence of a Steelers recovery, even though it was clear that Brady fumbled. So, the ruling on the field stood.

ESPN Stats and Information

Patriots are 14-0 when leading at the half this season. Steelers are 2-4 when trailing at halftime.
