Jake Arrieta retired Coco Crisp, Tyler Naquin and Roberto Perez in order to keep his no-hitter intact through the fifth inning. Arrieta has thrown 79 pitches through five. He joins the Mets' Noah Syndergaard as the second pitcher to take a no-hitter into the sixth inning this postseason.

Jayson Stark ESPN Senior Writer

AccuWeather alert on my phone: "Rain starting in 34 min." Call me a skeptic, but I don't think we can play another 4 1/2 innings that fast

Mets personnel believe Yoenis Cespedes will seek a five-year deal after opting out of his contract following the World Series. Cespedes is expected to vacate the two years and $47.5 million remaining on his current contract in order to test the free=agent market. The Mets are expected to still pursue Cespedes, but are pessimistic about their chances of landing him. Then again, they were pessimistic a year ago as well, and Cespedes returned.

Kyle Schwarber - 1-for-6 in the Arizona Fall League, 0-for-4 in the Cubs' regular season, 3-for-6 in the World Series. That's about right

Jesse Rogers ESPN Staff Writer

Kyle Schwarber has his second RBI single of the night as he hit a ball hard up the middle with Ben Zobrist on third base and the infield playing halfway. He's now 3 for 6 in the WS with 2 RBIs.

Bill Walton is a proud father tonight as he watches his son, Luke, coach his first game with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Mike D'Antoni was asked how he looks back on his time with the Lakers. He smiled and said, "I try not to."

Bradford Doolittle ESPN Staff Writer

Since we made a big deal of the Indians' 70-1 mark when they get a lead of three or more runs, it's only fair to note that the Cubs 79-4 mark in those spots was the third-best in baseball. (per ESPN Stats & Info)

Anthony Rizzo's evening so far: 2 walks, 2 runs and an RBI double in 3 trips, 23 pitches seen. I think he's out of that funk he was in!

Joel Embiid is out here looking flashing his massive potential. Even his missed shots draw oohs and ahhs from Sixers fans. Embiid pump-faked a 3, put the ball on floor, did a crossover before posting up, pumping and flashing the ball one-handed like Olajuwon used to all before missing a kid-range shot. Embiid showcased so many promising skills on just one missed shot.

Tim MacMahon ESPN Staff Writer

Minnesota's early 17-point lead didn't last long in Memphis. It's tied with 4:49 to go in the half. The Grizzlies are plus-11 in sixth man Zach Randolph's 10 minutes.

Calvin Watkins ESPN Staff Writer

The Rockets second team bus is stuck in traffic. So Mike D'Antoni isn't here at Staples Center.

Jesse Rogers ESPN Staff Writer

Jake Arrieta has not allowed a hit through 4 innings which is 2 innings shy of the longest stint in the WS by a Cubs pitcher. Ed Reulbach threw 6 innings in 1906 against the White Sox without giving up one.

Bradford Doolittle ESPN Staff Writer

The Cleveland Cavaliers are enjoying Game 2 of the World Series from a suite. They appeared on the video board during the fourth inning with J.R. Smith exhorting the crowd, along with Kevin Love, LeBron James, Richard Jefferson and others. The fans seemed pleased.

Coley Harvey ESPN Staff Writer

The Cavs' J.R. Smith had a message to deliver on the Progressive Field video board between half innings. (It involved that shiny thing on his finger)

Mike Mazzeo ESPN Staff Writer

The Nets went 8-for-20 from 3-point range in the first half and trail the Celtics 64-58. Brook Lopez is 1-for-5 from the field while Justin Hamilton has 14 points.

I'm a little bummed I forgot to mention that Anthony Rizzo was the 1st Cub to drive in a run in a WS game since Bill (Swish) Nicholson in Game 7, 1945

Boban Marjonovic falls for Jonas Valanciunas' pump-fake and fails to recover in time as the Raptors big man throws down another dunk.

Trevor Bauer can't make it through the fourth. He threw one less pitch, 87, than Corey Kluber, who went six in Game 1.

Almost five minutes into the game, Karl-Anthony Towns is outscoring the Grizzlies. So is Gorgui Dieng. And Andrew Wiggins. And Zach LaVine has as many points as Memphis.

Jayson Stark ESPN Senior Writer

Both the Cubs' strikeouts have come with men on base. Elias reports their 10 K's Tuesday with men on were 2nd most ever in a WS game. Only the '29 A's had more

Ohm Youngmisuk ESPN Staff Writer

Joel Embiid just electrified this starving Sixers crowd with his first basket which came on a shake-and-bake, back-to-basket jumper by the free throw line before emphatically swatting a Russell Westbrook shot in the lane. Sixers up 10-2 early on Oklahoma City.

Jesse Rogers ESPN Staff Writer

Kyle Schwarber was given the 3-0 green light and came through with an RBI single in the third inning to give the Cubs a 2-0 lead. It was his first RBI since last postseason.
