Matt Moore has no-hitter after 8 frames

Pitch count (119) is an issue, though, for the Giants starter. Due up in the last of the ninth inning is Enrique Hernandez, Howie Kendrick and Corey Seager for the Dodgers. Follow live

I meant 7.1 innings. But now Moore is through eight innings! And 119 pitches. Tough call for Bochy in the ninth. I'd let him start and see if he can get a quick inning. He threw 24 pitches in the eighth, which included a walk. Drama at Dodger Stadium!

Adam Amin ESPN College Football

No team has ever had a no-hitter in five consecutive seasons. Giants have had one each of the last four seasons (Cain, Lincecum, Lincecum, Heston). Dodgers are the only other team to have one in four straight seasons (all Koufax from '62-'65). H/T @waynerandazzo

The Giants' Matt Moore has a no-hitter through seven innings against the Dodgers at Los Angeles. He has thrown 95 pitches and has six strikeouts with the walks.

Cleveland's lead in the AL Central is down to 4.5 games after another starter struggled. This time it was Josh Tomlin, as Carlos Gomez tagged him for a three-run homer in his Rangers debut in a 9-0 shutout. The vaunted Indians rotation ranks 26th in the majors in August with a 6.13 ERA.

Tough three days for the Mariners as they lose two at home to the Yankees and blow a 6-3 lead tonight against the White Sox on the road. The bullpen just isn't good enough. They're now 51-11 when leading after six innings (.836), below the MLB average of .868. But they're 5-11 when tied after six.

Russell Wilson threw his first TD of the preseason, finding WR Paul Richardson for a 9-yard score in the second quarter against the Cowboys. Wilson has been sharp so far, completing 13 of 16 passes for 133 yards.

Dolphins (17), Falcons (6) FINAL. Here are some closing thoughts: Miami RB Arian Foster likely created separation with Jay Ajayi in their race to be a starter. Foster had 30 total yards in limited snaps, which included. 2-yard touchdown run. The defense was mostly solid, but there is some concern about the cornerback depth. Tony Lippett and Bobby McCain were both shaky. The Dolphins also had a lot of injuries. Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh (ankle), linebacker Jelani Jenkins (ankle) and defensive ends Chris McCain (shoulder) and Terrence Fede (knee) all suffered ailments.

Tony Romo's night is over because of a back injury. The team is saying it is a coaches' decision. Romo has played in 16 snaps this preseason and is unlikely to play in the preseason finale Sept. 1 against Houston.

Sheil Kapadia ESPN Writer

The Seahawks' first-team offense put together its first scoring drive of the preseason in the second quarter against the Cowboys. Russell Wilson is 7-for-9 for 73 yards. The big play was a 27-yard completion to Doug Baldwin, and the drive ended with a 27-yard field goal. The starters are expected to play into the third quarter.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

After losing two games to the Orioles in the wild-card race the past two days, the Mariners need a win tonight, especially with the O's losing. But an error by Ketel Marte led to three unearned runs for the White Sox in the seventh as the Mariners have blown a 6-3 lead. You can't lose these leads and expect to make the playoffs.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Cowboys rookie RB Zeke Elliott has looked impressive tonight. Runs hard, drops his pads on contact & has the vision to find daylight. Speed to get to the edge, too.
