Falcons dropped to 7-5 with 29-28 loss to the Chiefs at the Georgia Dome. A win by the Buccaneers later and the NFC South will be up for grabs. Falcons knew winning turnover battle would be key. Well, Matt Ryan giving up eight points to Eric Berry off picks proved costly.

Joe Flacco improved to 6-0 against the Dolphins with his breakout game of the year. A week after criticizing the offense for being conservative, Flacco threw for 381 yards and four TDs in a 38-6 rout. Baltimore out-gained Miami, 386-215, and shut out the Dolphins for the first three quarters.

With his 15th-place finish at the Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods is projected to move inside the top 650 in the Official World Golf Ranking. Coming into the week, Woods was ranked 898th. Had he finished last in the field that started with 18 players, he would have moved up roughly 150 places instead of the approximately 250 spots he jumped.

The 49ers suffered perhaps their most embarrassing loss in the now 11 in a row they've posted on Sunday at Soldier Field. The woeful Chicago Bears proved the Niners are even worse than they are with a 26-6 win that dropped San Francisco to 1-11 on the season. The good news for the Niners is they bolstered their chances of a top two pick. The bad news is, well, just about everything else. On top of it all, the Niners benched QB Colin Kaepernick for Blaine Gabbert, which will surely bring another round of questions about who the team's signal caller is for the final quarter of the season.

Eric Berry was sitting in the throwing lane with a Quarters technique on the Falcons 2-point conversion try. That allowed Berry to help on the outside receiver or read the QB. Another great break from the Chiefs safety to drive on the throw from Matt Ryan and take it back for two points. Chiefs now hold a 29-28 lead over the Falcons

So much for bend but don't break. The Saints defense just collapsed on a 66-yard TD pass from Matthew Stafford to Golden Tate on third-and-10 for a 25-13 Lions lead. Tate broke wide open. Saints CB B.W. Webb was the closest defender but it's unclear what led to such a big breakdown.

Saints score a TD to get within 19-13 against Lions -- but they burned a timeout and ran out of replay challenges when they believed WR Brandin Cooks scored instead of being tackled at the 1-yard line. Patriots WR Danny Amendola has headed to the locker room after coming up limping following a fourth-down play in which he was fielding a punt. He hopped off the field, not wanting to put pressure on one leg, and then did something similar en route to the locker room. Amendola has been playing a key role in the team's offensive plan without TE Rob Gronkowski, which has featured more 4-WR packages.
