Keen's Buildings returns to Rick Ware Racing: Officials from Rick Ware Racing (RWR) announced today that longtime Keen's Buildings will return as a financial and marketing partner for the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) season. The Keen's Buildings colors will fly as the primary partner for upcoming announced races, while serving as an associate marketing partner for the remaining events. Last month, Rick Ware Racing announced that they had secured a charter from Richard Petty Motorsports securing the team a berth not only into the Daytona 500, but the remaining 35 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series events in 2018 as well. Rick Ware Racing acquires Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series charter for 2018: Officials from Rick Ware Racing (RWR) announced today that they have acquired a charter from a current Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) team to utilize during the 2018 season. The acquisition of the charter signifies that RWR will compete full-time in the Cup Series next season with the #51 entry beginning with the 60th annual Daytona 500 on Sun, Feb. 18, 2018. Rick Ware Racing to lease charter from Petty in 2018: Richard Petty cleared up rumors that it had sold it's prestigious NASCAR charter for the #43 car. He said neither of his charters had been sold but he is leasing out NASCAR's No. 1 charter to Rick Ware Racing. The team is using the charter tied to the #44 car on the #43 car in 2018. The explanation, he said, was with the way NASCAR allotted charters for each individual car owner.[More](12-7-2017)

Ware suffering from back issues UPDATE: One reason Ware took his Rick Ware Racing machine off the 2.5-mile track [at Pocono] is due to an issue he had been suffering with since the previous week at Dover International Speedway, when he pulled off the track after completing 283 of 406 laps, back pain. "One of the things that happened is I was dealing with some back pain from the previous race at Dover," Ware said.(6-14-2017)
UPDATE: Ware posted the following to his Facebook page, "This morning I got an MRI done and the results show that I have some compression and discs issues in my lower back. Rick Ware Racing to run full season; Timmy Hill driving at Daytona: Rick Ware Racing announced the team's intent to compete in the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series as an "open non-chartered" team beginning with next month's 59th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. RWR's return to the elite level of NASCAR will have Timmy Hill aboard the #51 Chevrolet for Speedweeks with a rotating list of drivers to follow throughout the season including longtime RWR drivers Stanton Barrett, Cody Ware and road course veteran Kevin O'Connell to name a few. RWR also announced the team has acquired assets from Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) for use this season, including cars, pulldown rig and technology support. Additionally, Longtime industry veteran Joe Lax, also previously with TBR will serve as crew chief, while pro-motor engineering (PME) will supply the horsepower during the season. Furthermore, Mike Hillman Sr., a longtime fixture in NASCAR joins RWR in a newly created role as team consultant. In addition to their effort in the Cup Series, Rick Ware Racing will also compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) this season with recently announced driver Spencer Boyd at the wheel.
