The Lakers are in the process of finalizing a deal to hire Miles Simon as a player development coach, a league source confirms to ESPN. Simon would replace former Lakers player development coach Theo Robertson, who left after one season to become an assistant coach for his alma mater, the California Golden Bears. Like Lakers coach Luke Walton, Simon is an Arizona alum. Simon served as an assistant coach on Arizona's staff and recently was a college basketball analyst for ESPN. The Los Angeles Times first reported that the Lakers were in the process of adding Simon to their staff.
