When asked about the comparisons between himself and rookie Rams coach Sean McVay, Saints coach Sean Payton said, “The first similarity would be S-E-A-N.” Payton also pointed out that they share a Miami (Ohio) background and that the Rams have former Saints assistants Aaron Kromer and Bill Johnson on staff. “There's a confidence you build (when) you get your opportunity,” Payton said. “I've never had a chance to work with him. But he clearly is doing a fantastic job there.”

They're both good jobs, but UCLA has fired every coach since Terry Donahue. People think he's got the success on the West Coast, but the reality is he's an East Coast guy. ... UCLA is a very good job. I'm not sure I could say it's a great job."
