UCLA's Rosen pulled as precaution, Fisch says

UCLA QB Josh Rosen might have played his last snap at the Rose Bowl after he was sacked three times and removed late in the second quarter of Friday night's win. Interim coach Jedd Fisch said the team wanted to make sure Rosen was healthy for a bowl game.

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen did not return to the sideline after halftime and Devon Modster started the third quarter for the Bruins. Rosen took a hard hit near the end of the first half and was seen being evaluated by trainers.

New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan is listed on the attendance sheet at tonight's Cal-UCLA game at the Rose Bowl. He was on hand for the Bruins' game last week, too, presumably to see UCLA QB Josh Rosen.

Last game at the Rose Bowl? It sure feels that way for UCLA junior QB Josh Rosen.

There is only one bowl with representatives scheduled to be in attendance at tonight's Cal-UCLA game: the Walk-On's Independence Bowl. It's December 27, in Shreveport, La.

Check out what Rams coach Sean McVay had to say about Jared Goff's throwing ability and how he defines "arm talent." ...

Rams DT Aaron Donald missed Thursday's practice with an illness and was limited on Friday, but Sean McVay said he will be good to go on Sunday.

The Saints will officially be without their two starting corners. Marshon Lattimore and Ken Crawley are both out. Nice break for a Rams team without Robert Woods.

Alden Gonzalez ESPN Staff Writer

The Rams' slot corner, Nickell Robey-Coleman, will probably join their most productive receiver, Robert Woods, in being out for Sunday's game. Robey-Coleman (thigh) is doubtful. But CB Kayvon Webster, who plays on the outside, practiced in full and is expected to play. Lance Dunbar, who backs up Todd Gurley, is questionable with a knee injury. If he can't go, Justin Davis will fill in, not necessarily Tavon Austin. Sean McVay stressed, once again, that he wants to get Austin involved.

Chargers coach Anthony Lynn said that it's possible the organization has a tryout for kickers next week, depending on the availability of Nick Novak as he nurses a back injury. "We want Nick here," Lynn said. "Nick is a guy we brought in, and he's been doing a decent job up until now. He brings a veteran presence, and if he's ready to go we're fine with Nick. If he's not, then obviously we'll have to have some people in here and try them out."

Chargers Anthony Lynn said they've ruled out an ACL knee injury for WR Mike Williams, but he will continue to be evaluated.

Rivers was a road warrior on Thursday

Philip Rivers became just the second QB in NFL history to throw for 400 yards on the road on Thanksgiving. He improved his career record to 3-0 against the Cowboys. The only active QB with a better record vs. Dallas is Tom Brady (4-0).
