USC redshirt freshman TE Cary Angeline has quit the team, the school announced in its game notes for this week. Angeline was the No. 8 TE in the Class of 2016 and held offers several national powers including Alabama, Florida State and Ohio State. He finishes his career without a catch.

Chargers defensive end Chris McCain discussed his reasons for kneeling during the national anthem before Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. McCain said that kneeling for the anthem is not a sign of disrespect, but simply showing support for other NFL players protesting against social injustice: "I feel that now we understand as a community our own Commander and Chief, a guy that we're supposed to lean on and be here to protect us, but clearly he is not. He's not on our side."
