Hill quickly etches place in Dodger lore

Rich Hill tossed six scoreless innings in his first appearance for the Dodgers, a 1-0 win over the Giants on Wednesday. Only two other pitchers have started and beaten the Giants without allowing a run in their Dodgers debut: Dutch Henry (May 29, 1923) and Karl Spooner (Sept. 22, 1954), the Elias Sports Bureau reports.

Turner deciding factor in Dodgers' win

Justin Turner's fourth-inning homer on Wednesday provided all the scoring in the Dodgers' 1-0 win over the Giants. Turner is the fifth player to homer for the Dodgers in a 1-0 game against the Giants, and all of them did so in the last 32 seasons, per the Elias Sports Bureau.
