Some members of the Utah Jazz front office have expressed interest recently in Lakers guard Lou Williams, ESPN sources say. Many around the league believe Williams is likely to be dealt before Thursday's trade deadline. Some teams who have talked to the Lakers about Williams believe Los Angeles is seeking a first-round pick in any Williams swap.

This afternoon on NFL Insiders, ESPN Front Office Insider Phil Savage named four players who could potentially get franchise tags before the March 1 deadline. Of the four, all but one would be getting the tag for the first time.

The Dodgers remain encouraged about LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu, who had another positive throwing session Sunday. "Ryu still has a smile on his face about how well he threw," manager Dave Roberts said. "That was exciting. He said he feels good today." Ryu has pitched in just one game the last two years because of shoulder and elbow procedures.

New Dodgers OF Franklin Gutierrez and current manager Dave Roberts were in the same Dodgers spring training camp as players in 2003. Gutierrez was just a top prospect then, but as carved out a solid 11-year career since. "He was a lot lighter back then," Roberts joked, "but always a good athlete, good defender. It's nice that we do have some history."
