GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The additional Cactus League split-squad game the Los Angeles Dodgers have scheduled in Tucson, Ariz., later this spring, to benefit the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Fund, will be played on March 25, with the Arizona Diamondbacks as the opponent, according to the spring-training schedule posted on the team's official web site.
The game is scheduled for the Kino Sports Complex (formerly Tucson Electric Park), where the Diamondbacks held spring training for 13 years before moving this year to a new complex in Scottsdale. According to the website, it hasn't been determined whether the game will be played in the afternoon or at night, but the Dodgers' other game that day is a night game against the Seattle Mariners at Peoria.
The Diamondbacks already had announced an additional game with the Chicago White Sox -- who shared the Kino complex with them until moving into Camelback Ranch with the Dodgers two years ago -- on March 7. That game also will benefit the memorial fund set up for Dodgers scout John Green's 9-year-old daughter, who died from a gunshot wound suffered during the Jan. 8 shooting rampage outside a Tucson shopping center.
The Green family lives in Tucson.
