Chris Paul to sit out vs. Wolves

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul will not play Thursday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, sitting out his third straight game because of a bruised right kneecap.

Paul is officially listed as day to day by the Clippers. The five-time All-Star injured his knee with 54 seconds left in the Clippers' 104-101 loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday when he collided with Orlando guard J.J. Redick.

Paul will be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Washington Wizards.

Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe will start his third straight game in place of Paul. Bledsoe made his first start of the season against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday and finished with 14 points, four assists and three rebounds in the Clippers' 99-73 victory.

On Tuesday, Bledsoe had a season-high 19 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 117-109 win over the Houston Rockets.

The 26-point victory over Memphis was the largest road win for the Clippers this season and the largest against the Grizzlies franchise.

Paul leads the NBA with 386 assists and is averaging 9.7 per game, the league's second best mark. He also leads the league with 97 steals, averaging 2.62 per game.
